I've lived in LaGrange for 20 years and I have seen much progress in that period of time.

I have also lived in 7 other states and in my opinion LaGrange is one of the most progressive small towns in America.

Much has changed for the better in those 20 years and I'm sure things will get even better over the next 20 years.

Back in town for a few days!

It must be LaGrange because Grantville does nothing but continue to back peddle!

It is bad when the only applicant you get is a Jailbird and you hire the Jailbird!

No, the project isn't on hold and is still on schedule. The total impack upon employment will be between 5,000 and 7,500 jobs. Many of the suppliers of Kia are also building in the area.

Even in tough times such as we are experiencing now the area should experience an economic boom.

I know what you mean progresso. I would imagine that KIA would be very selective in who they hire. My guess is that they will have the best to choose from.

Though many people may not qualify for KIA, when KIA hires someone who is already employeed it will create a vacancy somewhere else.

I saw in the paper the other day where KIA's 4th quarter profit doubled compared to the 2007 4th quarter. They seem to be doing pretty good.

Also several of their suppliers who have built in the area have started conducting job fairs.
