Help

I drive to Nelson County for work and have nearly killed a particular man on a bike numerous times. Obviously I don't want that to happen, and my little ticker can only take so many more super close calls as it scares the crap out of me. Would you please help me identify him so I could perhaps see if there is a way I could help?

I see him on 31-E in the general Ovesen Heights area both morning and late afternoons. He always has a grocery bag hanging off his handle bars. He nas no reflective gear whatsoever. This morning it was still completely dark, it was drizzling, and he had on dark clothing. I come around a curve and I'm telling you, I missed him by inches. I saw the car behind me swerve as well. Unless he has nerves of steel, every trip must be frightening. Unless he has a death wish?

Besides this information, I only know that I once saw him sitting in front of Dollar General well past midnight when I stopped to purchase a paper. He was there alone with his bike beside him. I don't know if that indicates he is without a home or not...could have just been hanging out, I suppose.

This man may need no help at all. Perhaps it thrills him to nearly die every day and to scare the crap out of all drivers. But if he is in need, I would sincerely like to help. Even if it is just a reflective jacket and decals or a nice basket/compartment for his back to replace the bag hanging off a handle bars. And whatever else may make his life easier.

So, if you happen to know who I am speaking of and know if he needs helps and would be receptive, please let me know.

Thank you.

His name is Jimmy & he is mentally challenged. He lives with his mom in white city. He doesn't have a death wish, he's just special & doesn't know better. I'm sure he'd appreciate protective gear. He's super nice. If you ever see him & talk to him don't be afraid. He comes across a little scary but he's harmless.

Oh, I'm so glad someone knows who I am talking about. Thank you so, so much for this information.

Does he ride his bike anywhere in particular, or more "recreationally". If he frequents a place perhaps I could speak to him there. Or I wonder if I could speak to his mother?

Again, thanks so much. Especially knowing he is mentally challenged, I am very eager to help however I can.

He seems harmless, but he is friends with my neighbor, so I know him a little. He is special, and like I said seems harmless. But he talks about an ex wife and prison and violent fights and drugs and alcohol too. I don't think he would hurt anyone, but I am never sure and he makes me uneasy. I always make sure that I am never alone outside when I see him riding up, and I don't let my kids outside when he is there.

I know people have given him reflective gear before and he just doesn't use it. He has scared me several times in that area also.

I know this guy, not personally. Sometimes on Friday or Saturday I will see him heading to hodgenville around 4:00pm. He is heading to the senior center to listen to the music there. He has bright blond hair, very slender build. Around maybe middle thirtys or early fourties. He should be there on Friday the 17th of Feb. Every body knows him there. He is strange but harmless. He has scared me on the road too. Sometimes I will go around a curve and there he is. He was stopped on the curve once. Yikes!!!! Hope someone can help. If I get a chance I 'll try to do something..

I was always uneasy around him too. But I came out of the dollar store one night, around closing time, and there was a couple of very large guys standing by my car. I had my daughter with me and was, honestly, afraid to approach my vehicle. There were only a few cars in the parking lot but no one outside. I stood on the sidewalk, putting my daughther's coat hood up, zipping up her coat, really anything that would waste time until the guys walked away from my car. But they continued to stand there. I was just about to go back into the store when the guy on the bike walked up and asked if I was ok. I just kinda nodded toward my car and he got the idea. He politely took my bags and said he would help me carrying my stuff to the car. He said hi to the guys and kinda started a vague conversation while I got my child in the car, handed me my bags and stood there until I was pulling off.
He's a little strange at first but he's harmless. I'm happy he was around that night, for sure!

Who doesn't love Joe Dirt in Larue County?!? I talk to him everytime I see him out. He told me he lived in a camper in White City. I see him out at night time a lot and during the day. He has never even attempted to hurt me in any way, shape or form. I've talked to him well past midnight on the street when nobody was around and he acted the same. He's rough looking and has black teeth. I didn't think he was mentally handicap as I have always thought he was burnt out on drugs and alcohol. Nice man who's fun to talk to though.
