What is the point in this post? Are you saying that these farmers excepted G'vt grants to continue their "farming" ? What??

I for one, irregardless will always support the American Farmer. The returns on their efforts are not always worth their hard work and labor not even to mention their expenses. I don't even call this payment welfare.. not even close. They do bust their butts farming.. I do however wish that it was spread out amongst all farmers and that they would employ more hometown people and not always the migrant worker and the Amish. We have young kids around here looking and begging for jobs and if they aren't afraid of a little hard work and could be dependable they could be employed. That is what a lot of this money is for to help pay with those expenses. Geesh people, do a little research first. And NO I don't farm, been there , done that and there ain't no bag of chips comes with it!!

I have to agree with 'whats your point'. What is the point you're trying to make here 'mad taxpayer'? My husband and I own and operate a full-time farm and any money we receive from the government is very welcomed. The average American has NO idea what operating a farm entails. Long days, dangerous equipment, animals needing feeding every day, repairs, expensive seeds, chemicals, and fertilizer, all this during every kind of weather. As far as employing more hometown people, we've always preferred that, but they are few and far between. Many times over the ones we've dealt with in the past don't want to work that hard and want to be paid as much or more than they would make in a factory. I wish more people would understand the plight of the American farmer and stop blaming us for the high food prices. Research how much we ACTUALLY receive for every food $ spent, you would be appalled. Just remember, the American farmer feeds and clothes not only the American people, but others around the world. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

I would bet Mad Taxpayer is on SS and Medicare....he (or she) thinks its fine to put gov't money in their pocket.....just not into anyone elses. And before Mad Taxpayer says "but I paid in to SS" the amount drawn out by recipients of SS and Medicare is a lot more than they paid in...

but leave the farmers alone if it wasnt for them you would be wondering where the food come from. you want something else to be mad about they are tax exempt on parts but the dealers jack the price up to make up for it. GOD bless the farmers
