I was on the balcony at the Hampton Inn, watching people swim in the ocean. I saw a person not knowing it was a child out too far. Both my daughters and I were using our binoculars and watching another person trying to get out to the child but the current was too strong. A life guard had to bring him in (it was his father). When we noticed it in the beginning, we called 911 to try to get help for him. All I could feel was helplessness and total sadness watching him go under. My heart hurt for him. That night we went to where the rescuers and people were. We were hoping for a miracle for this child. I went over to the i,father and hugged him; he was so distraught and crying. Around 50 people or more including policemen gathered around him and his family, some kneeling and some standing, praying to our lord that a miracle would bring him back to his family. My daughters and I how sorry we feel for your lose.33

My daughter and I were walking on the beach when the first responders areived. At the time I was unaware of what happened and prayed everything was okay. That night I watched the coast hairs fly back and forth searching and I knew then things weren't good. As we headed home to Atlanta the next morning my thoughts were consumed with what was going on. I found out later it was a young boy that was mission and heart broke. I have prayed ever since witnessing these events and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

This is like the worst. I was just in Scotland Neck, I passed by the mom of this young fellow, not knowing that her son had drowned, I had just meet the family In Jan of this year. My heart aches for her I can only image the heartbreak she feels inside. T I will continue to pray for that heart to mend.
