You guys are pathetic. Carl does what he thinks is right and so does the chief. It is funny how people who have no idea of what they are talking about decide to make comments on things they know nothing about. That is all these boards are good for. People can spout off when they do not have the courage to do it in person or with their real name under their post. Grow up...

Well I see there are still some folks talking stuff that they don't know. The guy who says I don't know Carl are is racist, Wrong. I'm a ex-cop myself and just happen to know Carl very well. The Chief is a good guy and one in which Hobbs needed for a long time. Carl helps police officers all the time and cares for them very much. We the people of Hobbs need more people to be like Carl. Besides what favor did the Chief do? nothing is the answer I was there, huh were you? Carl speaks his heart if you like it or not. You say you have friends on PD? then stop LYING on Carl. I know folks on severl of the Police departments. We love him very much and he has stood up for the retired police officers so they kept their retirements as promised. Thanks Carl for the work you do in our city.

More or Less, you are the Chief of Police and Willie too. Sounds just like the writing in the paper. We are pathetic I agree, we hide behind funny names to get to speak our point of view. We do it because people like you, you monitor everything we say and do and hold it against us. You are just dying to send your Citizens Action Team after us. You are so afraid that the public will find out what your really after. Answer one question. Did you meet the terms of your contract? Or are you just holding out for that two year mark when you can walk away with an extra six months of pay for doing nothing. You know what's wrong with the Police Department no leadership, you can't run a department with people who are to afraid to do their job. You set a bad example for the department and have ran off a lot of good officers. That the stuff the citizens need to hear. We are not getting what we pay for and that's a hard working Chief who cares about the community. You are just a yes person who knows how to brown nose the right people. I'll say this for Mackey at least he cares about Hobbs and is here for the long run. Unlike you, who is just looking for a quick buck. Your making what? Twice what you did at your last job. You may play with the numbers, and tell us we are better off then Roswell, but we do see crime out of control in Hobbs. And yes don't send the criminals to jail, its just way to rough to expect them to pay for their crimes. Slap them on the wrist and let us hard working citizens pick up the tab by paying the state for their fines, cause we can expect them to pay without a job can we and we sure don't want to take away any of there drug money. Anyone that doesn't think this is true just watch the publications in the newspaper. Read between the lines people and speak up. It's your tax dollars that are being stolen right before your eyes. How is this for Real.

And as a black man you need to be ashame of yourself. I was watching a speech on Malcom X. He said their's two types of Negros an house negro and an field negro. My pops is a field negro he works hard in the fields in the sun sweating; hands all messed up from working hard. While you the house negro sitting in a nice cool house drinking ice tea plotting on the next negro with the slave master. So you need to worry about yourself im a young man a strong MACKEY who was raised by good parents and has the brain thinking like his dad and share the same views. Back in slave days the slave owner used other slaves to catch other slaves for there master and thats what your doing downing on this good man.

Carl was one of my best friends in elementary school at Southern Heights. He wasn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. He teased me about being his personal tutor at times but he had a big heart and was a good friend. I heard he passed away from a heart attack yesterday and he will be missed by those of us who considered him a friend.

Carl Mackey was an upright man. He would fight for anyone who had a small voice. He would stand when everyone else was sitting. He would go foward when everyone else decided to slack off. He would get the issue in the forefront instead of letting them be forgotten about. Carl Mackey was a blessed man. Blessed beyond measure. Whatever problem anyone had for Carl Mackey was related to his nonwillingness to settle for just anything. I believe in my heart that this is not a debate over whether he was racist or not. It is an issue about whether we can get Carl out of our hair because he will take a stand for what's right and many people don't like it. He has had several degrees and was very smart and educated. He never spoke without a purpose and he never said anything he wasn't willing to stand behind. He never threw a rock and hid his hand. He always spoke loud and proud for his community. We could learn alot from him. Most of all how to stand in the midst of adversity.

I'm glad to see that Unc had so many supporters. Obviously he was a very loved and respected man. May he rest in peace. To those who did not support him, you are entitled to your opinions. I just hope you will show your respect to his family and keep your opinion to yourself since he is no longer with us. God bless!

Carl was one of the most racist men on this planet.
Always crying out for the black man no matter what. The black man could have murdered someone in cold blood but the white, or black, cops would have been accused of wrong doing on the black man. He was the cause of most racial tension in Hobbs. He acted like he was the one in the field picking cotton and the world owed him personally for that. Get over it. Usually the person screaming racism at every turn is in fact the racist one.

My oh my. The RACIAL HATE still goes on in Hobbs. A town that had a chance to be a GOOD TOWN turned bad. The reason is simple. Too many people from the DEEP SOUTH brought their CULTURES with them ( whether it was white or black). The Mexican's where already there, they have their CULTURE. The BLACKS HATE THE WHITES, THE WHITES HATES THE BLACKS AND THE MEXICANS HATE EVERYBODY. I know I have lived in Hobbs and the South.
I noticed N.M. went BLUE in the Presidential election. Was it because of the Hispanic, Black, & Indian vote? Well ALL OF NEW ENGLAND WENT BLUE and trust me there is not too many Blacks, Hispanics, nor Indians up here to elect him LOL. I am still so HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY about the election.
To sum it up: yes, Hobbs N.M. has a RACIAL PROBLEM. And it has had one for years. In the schools, police department, court system etc. Lillton a principal, Jimmy Palmer police chief both black. Only reason they were was to report to MR. JOHN.(who was white).
I don't care what RACE you are throw those OLD CULTURES away and live and let live. If they are fair to all. My go for now got some more turkey to eat. HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Made a mistake: If they are not fair to all. Not If they are fair to all.
