Can you help

Arthur Diamond is my wife’s father whom she has never met. She wants and needs nothing from this man what so ever. Mr. Diamond never once laid eyes on her and missed out on a opportunity to know a beautiful person inside and out.
Thinking I was helping my wife on or about the fall of 2005 I was able to find her father Mr. Arthur Diamond who at the time lived in Hitchcock, TX.
I prompted her to call him which and she begrudgingly did so. In hindsight it was a dreadful mistake and caused more pain to my wife emotionally than never knowing her Dad or ever speaking with him. He mentioned in the 10 to 15 minute phone call that he had other children in the Midwest if I recall correctly near Chicago.
A memorable point of this first ever contact between a father and daughter was when Mr. Diamond went on to say he had health problems and was uninterested in meeting his daughter. She was devastated and this still haunts her as she recalls vividly the only thing the "stranger" on the phone made clear was his lack of interest in meeting his daughter. I was and continue to be extremely angry at him for his apparent selfishness, and at myself for making it possible for him to hurt her one more time.
While on the internet yesterday 6-21-10 she noticed an obituary mentioning a Arthur Diamond passing away in 2006.
My wife’s name is Cheryl and her mothers name is Judy, she was born in the state Minnesota in 1963. I beleive Mr. Diamond still has relatives in or around Hitchcock, TX.
Cheryl knows nothing about her Dad except she never met him and when she was able to speak with him he rejected her as in her mind he had done her entire life.
If anyone has any information on the passing of Arthur Diamond please let me know.
Thank you

This is going to sound strange, but I too had been looking for Arthur G Diamond. I was adopted at birth in Chicago, IL and recently found out the names of my birthparents were Arthur & Gloria Diamond. To make a long story short, I have recently found Gloria, living in Chicago. When Gloria was made aware that I was looking for her, she informed her son and daughter – whom I had been in contact with- that she wasn’t actually my birthmother, as the Cook County IL adoption papers stated in 1962, but in fact a woman named Judy was my actual mother, but Arthur was my father. Can it be that Cheryl and I may be related? If you read this, please write back…

i am the niece of Art Diamond , anyone wanting to know information about Gloria Diamond or Art Diamond you r welcome to contact me, sorry to those who contacted him during the time of his sickness and was not able to meet with anyone and died thereafter. please be aware Art was not aware of the children that were adopted out, he had knowledge of Beverly Diamond, Gary Diamond, Arther Diamond, Linda Sue Diamond, who resided in Chicago, Ill when they divorced. I did not know Judy nor heard of any children from their relationship, so if he answered anyone not able to meet with them it was because of not knowing all these years and being in a terrible state caused from the sickness he died of. Please take into consideration all true fact and not what you may have heard or been told without proof. Thank you , Charmaine Diamond my e-mail is [email protected],com

Dear Charmaine. My father, Arthur Diamond, played a very active role in arranging for the adoption of the children born to him with my Mother & with his girlfriend Judy. And an fyi ... I remember Judy from my childhood, yeah she was his girlfriend. Without a doubt, Art remained living at my family's home until approximately 1962/1963. The children; which Art & Gloria put up for adoption are add follows: Patty born after 1956, Wendy 1958, Becky 1961 & Paul 1962. My Mother's father, my Grandfather, passed away one day before Paul was born in 1962. In fact, while Gloria was at the cemetery choosing her Father's gravesite, she went into labor and gave birth. And just so everyone knows ... Art was at my grandfather's funeral, yeah he was involved with the adoptions ... very involved. Just wanting to set the story straight.
Sincerely, Beverly Diamond

Thank you all for your information on Arthur Diamond. Well there is no doubt this Cheryl's father though it is still a bit vague and confusing. As to who is related to who?

Paul, from Beverly's post it appears Arthur and Gloria are your biological parents... I think? What a family tree... wow!

I mentioned awhile ago to my mother in law Judy about seeking out Arthur and also this post in TOPIX and I can't say she was pleased and offered no additional comment. It is all so vague. But Cheryl knows nearly nothing about her father except what was offered here by you kind people. Very interested in health issues that may run in the family, what was he like, who was he, did he play any roll in Cheryl's life other than getting Judy pregnant, etc.

If anyone may have any photo's or any additional info on Mr. Diamond please feel free to send them to my email [email protected]

Thank you all again for your participation.
