I wish more people would see this and know to give the tips directly to the housekeeper. I am surprised that someone who has left a tip and then found out that the housekeeper did not receive it would report this to the management.
Housekeepers are afraid to say anything about the tips being gone not to mention the comment cards and tip envelopes. Why would anyone who is staying at this place take the tip envelopes. I could see a few missing but most of them are gone. They tell anyone who asks that they got the tips. I worked at a cheap motel and made much more in tips than those girls do and they work hard. I wonder who they could tell without fear of job loss and how could they prove it?

a Godly man? wow :) i know i went to the black bear to eat the other day, now its called Canyon Rim sumthin, and it sucked! they made it look like sum african starbucks on the inside, and their menu was horrible. My sister had hotdogs, seemed safe i guess, well halfway through she looked down and both buns were ate up with mold! I was sick just seeing that. Seems like the management sucks and the menu as well. We need Bill Miller or the Andersons back for sure

The housekeeping supervisor is a friend of mine and she would not take anything from anybody. I think the best thing the park could do is let the guests know that since the housekeepers are state employees, they should not leave tips. That would take care of that problem. There are always people who like to stir up touble and tell their lies. If you are not happy with your job, quit, make us all happy.

Housekeepers do hard work, and generally the guests at the park are tourists from all over and not your locals. There are very generous people that visit the park and feel that they want to leave a tip knowing that the housekeeper is the one person that cleans up after them. To say that they don't deserve a tip and tell the guest to not tip is wrong. Just because they are state employees has nothing to do with a tip. They make minimum wage for very hard work, not to mention they work full time hours in a week, and unlike most state workers, they get no benefits at all. So next time one of you all are staying at a hotel, motel, lodge, etc. and you leave your messes for someone to clean up, instead of being so critical and mean, be kind and leave a lil reward to show your appreciation.

I agree, housekeeping is a hard job. I never said that they did not DESERVE tips.I have done it myself. I said they should be stopped to keep down trouble. My problem is not with the housekeepers getting tips, its the lieing on the supervisor and saying she is taking tips. She does not DESERVE that. People need to look at the fellow workers, because some of them are the very ones taking the tips and accusing others to shift the blame. The supervisor is more than fair to the employees, changing the schedule 10 times a week just so everyone can have the days they want off. Businesses in the private sector would not put up with the crap that the state does. They would just fire the trouble makers and get new workers.

I used to be a maid and I got fed up real quick with Pipestem can't really trust anyone there .. as far as Mrs.Neal I know a maid that claims she saw her with her own eyes take a tip & pocket it & not give it to that maid that did the room. She has been told on twice as far as I know about that issue ... as you probably know since you are her friend. I could care less now though I spoke my peace & got laid off now I make more then I made there & more then a full time maid there ! The best thing for the maids is to find something better.

The service industry/tourism vital to the local economy there gratuities are vital as an incentive to workers for service above and beyond. It's difficult to report inappropriate things to management if there is corruption (not saying there is there, just saying)As for the off topics re: tram workers if it be true,I hear if they do it with you they'll do it to you.I don't believe many threads on topix here always get corrupted by sex/drugs and or violence maybe an insight to general mentality and morality or lack there of.
