thats not your dad. that is Jack Keaton (your dads cousin). Your dad didnt own the taxi service til later in the seventies I think. I know He owned it when I came back to summeers county in 1981. He also owned park avenue exxon for a while dring the same time he owned the taxi service.

Thanks River Ridge for the info. However Jack was one of my dad's brothers. His son Arnold probably was the owner during that time period but as you may recall Arnold committed suicide around 1981 at the Hinton Jail.

I didnt know that Pipestem boy, I knew Jack and Arnold. In fact, though Arnold was older than I I remember as a little boy in school with me he always looked out for me and the others in our class there on the creek. His sister gave me a picture of him and me taken during those school days that I treasure immensely.

I dont know why my address popped up in MD this morning. I was actually in a Marriott Motel in charleston wv. I cant imagine Larry keeping a secret that well. Of course you wouldnt remember me from your youth. I am younger than you by 3 or 4 years. I also went to school on the creek in both schools that were there while youj went to school at the "big" school at Pipestem. My older brother Tommy you might remember.

Didn't your family live across the creek there between Delbert and Wanda Neely and Ralph and Dorothy Neely? You know everytime I see a Ford Mustang(which I really LOVE) I think of my cousin Roger Neely who had one you may remember in the early 60's/probably the first person in Summers Co to own one. I bet he sure would love to see today's Mustang. It is hard to believe he's been gone since 1985..........

yes we did for a number of years. I was gone from here when rogeer had the mustang. I remember him well. he was ahead of me in school but ws a great role model for all of us younger kids. I guess you know that Dorothy Neely is still living dont you? Her son passed a few years ago. He was living in Atlanta Ga at the time. His name was Ray Bradbury as I recall. You mention Maggie M. If my mother had not been such a good teacher my years in elementary school would have been wasted.

River Ridge Yes I knew that Dorothy was still living. Her maiden name was Bradbury and I believe Ray's dad was a Houchins who was hit over at Beckley many, many years ago and killed by a tractor trailer. I used to play with Ray as a small boy when we still lived at the Harrison Hill Farm prior to moving to the creek in 1955. Yes I felt blessed to be able to continiue on at Pipestem School for the 7th and 8th grade.

Now please indulge me because I am old now and my memory is getting dull LOL LOL Earl Cooper,Denver Cooper,Maynard Wyatt were connected somehow as I recall in my clouded brain. I know Earl and Denver were brothers and my friend Martha MAartin there on the creek told me some time ago that Denver had passed after falling from a ladder up here in MAryland. Are you related to them if I might ask?

We are in fact first cousins. Denver has passed but as far as I know Earl lives still in Iowa I think. They were connected to Maynard (Sheriff) through their mother who was Maynards sister. Their dad was killed in a gunfight of sorts there on the creek when they were very young I am told. Their Step dad was Fred Graham. I dont know if you know it or not Pipestem boy but the "creek" was not a gentle place to live during the late thirties, forties and fifties. A neighborhood piesupper even brought out the worst in folks back then.

That's very interesting. I never realized any of that even though we moved onto the creek in September,1955. So their mother was married to Etta Sue's dad Fred Granam I think it was spelled.I may have known about that situation back then and since have forgotten it. I spoke with my friend Martha yesterday. She is now 85...........
