Does anyone have a good recipe for old fashioned cornbread. My mom used to make the best I have ever ate. I have made cornbread alot , but I can't make it like hers. She made my grandmothers recipe. They are both gone now and I cannot remember how they made it.

Make your cornbread according to the cornbread recipe on the yellow corn meal carton *but* also fry some bacon up crisp and line the bottom of your baking pan with the bacon strips. don't forget to use the bacon drippings as part of the "vegetable" oil in the recipe.
