No one should ever burn down a home. I pray they catch who ever is responsible for these horrible acts.

An owner told me it was built in 1909 or 1905, somewhere along those times.

to backwoods heathen there are people that lives in tose houses as well across from the funeral home and one is my mother no place deserves to be burned down who the hell do you think you are

I'm 56 and those buildings where there as long as I can remember. If it was arson they should have got the houses right as you get across the bridge across from the funeral home and not these houses.

This is terrible. I called my brother and told him they are burning Hinton again. It seems to be a never ending saga for Hinton.

Those row houses were a part of Hinton's history. Don't people have anything better to do than burn buildings and people's homes?

I hope they throw the book at him.

I bet he was not alone, they need to take him to the courtyard and hang him til he is dead, then maybe the scum will leave Hinton,or either the ppl start taking things into their own hands. It is not the cops fault they arrest them but our Court system turns them right back out.Lay the blame where it belongs on the Courts.

So sad to hear about temple street. Happy to hear that every one made it out in time but I also hope they get back un their feet in the near future. To the person who said they should burn down the houses across from the funeral home: No body should burn down the houses. I'd rather look at an old crappy house than a big burn pile any day. Gosh, what's wrong with you people?

Just down there earlier. Its awful that any one could do something like that. No one deserves to go through something like wether they have or dont have alot, but what they did is now gone except their family, all because of some stupid idiot that doesnt have anything else better to do than to make someones else life miserable.
My heart and prayers goes out to all that lost everything.
I agree the some of the houses in town and may not look the best, but I agree I'd rather look at old houses too instead of all the burnt rubble that is left behind. People need to think before they say things like that because you never know when you would be in that position..

"Well, I woke up to go get me a cold pop. And then I thought somebody was barbequein'. I said,'Oh, Lord Jesus, it's a fire!' Then I ran out. I didn't grab no shoes or nothin', Jesus. I ran for my life. And then the smoke got me. I got bronchitis! Ain't nobody got time for that!"

I grew up on 9th avenue. Sorry to hear of brick row burning & hope there were no injuries or fatalities. I remember the Cobbs, Walkers, & Bennetts living in brick row as I was growing up. My favorite person was an older man named Bill who Mrs Cobb cared for. Loved that old fellow!!! Prayers going out to all the families who lost their homes. God be with you!!

My parents owned one of them my last 2 yrs of high school 02-03.... they werent apts. they were houses, ours was very nice and well cared for over the yrs... i really dont remember any drug activity back then so im not sure when they got the "reputation" but good people lived there too.

Yes you're right. The brick row use to be kept up and was quite beautiful. The entire West End was nice years ago, but a lot has changed. A lot of the good people have either passed away or sold the homes they loved and kept up for years just to get away from there, because it's so run down now. Property values have dropped and people cant hardly sell their homes in that area. It's a shame.
