How about giving positive credit on a topic for once, instead of mean and criticizing comments all the time?

I don't understand why everyone is so negative about the Dairy Queen. Hinton's Dairy Queen is the best DQ I've ever been to. And, if you've ever traveled outside the city limits or state lines, you'd realize it too. Everyone knows that the chili there is incomparable to any other restaurants chili. Many people from out of town come to the DQ mainly for their chili.

I've never had poor service there. Did you ever think that maybe it's the customers that are rude and demanding? That maybe the employees do their best to keep up with the demands of the public? And, what about the fact that everyone makes mistakes at one time or another....???

And as for the negative, and sometimes downright mean, comments about Wilma....Wilma is an extremely kind person and an a very savvy business woman. She is the brawn and brains behind her success. If she hadn't been, do you think the DQ, and her other endeavors, would have survived? Of course not.
As far as her being the employeer....If you work hard and do it correctly, you will have no problems being an employee there.

Libby has also gotten some negative comments on here. Libby has always been very nice to me EVERY time that I've been there. I actually prefer her to wait on me when I'm a customer there.

Can't people sometimes comment on some good things, instead of complaining ALL the time?

We're all entitled to our individual opinions,(on this subject as well as others), and, I also realize that many won't agree with me. I do know, however, that facts have played into making my opinion on this.

I know I'll catch alot flack over this, and I personally couldn't care less.......so be it.

I have to say that if you ever had the chance to work for Wilma, then you know things are at DQ. Good days and bad days. But that is how it is at most jobs. I did work for her a long time ago. There were times I couldn't stand the site of her and others I admired her for her determination.

I agree that this site is full of a lot of really nasty things, and I think we are fortunate to have a successful restaurant like DQ in town, but for the life of me I cannot understand the narrow-minded obsession that some people have over those damn hotdogs. I mean seriously, the wiener is just your run of the mill hotdog; the bun is Coney Island style, which I can buy from Kroger, and the chili, which in my opinion is pretty average, is Proctor Kirkís recipe IT ISNíT EVEN ORIGINAL TO DAIRY QUEEN! You talk about getting outside city limits and the state line; you need to get out of the tri-county, tri-state area. I have been all over this county and I can testify that there are plenty of hotdogs out there that beat the hell out of the Hinton DQ. Iím not saying this to knock the DQ. I think itís great that itís here, Iím just pointing out that there is a whole big world out there beyond Hinton. For example, in my opinion, itís pretty hard to beat a New York street vendor hotdog. You can get it made six different ways from Sunday. How about Samís foot long hotdogs at Myrtle Beach, pretty tasty. Did you know there is a hotdog restaurant in Atlanta called the Varsity, which is the worldís largest drive-in restaurant? It has been open for 80 years and is world renowned for its hotdogs. You donít even have to leave your house to know that. Itís been on the food channel along with many other famous hotdog restaurants. Do you know what world famous hotdog didnít make the list? Thatís right, Hinton Dairy Queen. Again, Iím not trying to discredit anything the Hinton DQ has done and I wish them continued success. All I am trying to do is put things into perspective. The Hinton DQ dogs are pretty good, and are pretty well known locally; however when people get on here and act like itís world famous and that travelers from all over the globe make a pilgrimage here for the privilege of eating a Hinton DQ hotdog you sound like a pretentious blowhard and the only thing you accomplish is that you make everyone else that lives in the area seem like blowhards too.

It wasn't my intention to make anyone seem like a blowhard. When I said restaurants, I was referring to the ones in Hinton. I've been around the country too, and yes, you're right - there are places with exceptional food, including chili. I realize it's a personal choice preference.
I only intended to point out something positive about Hinton, when the majority of threads on here are so trashy.

Point taken. I think that it is a positive place and should be promoted. I do run into a lot of people though, who don't see it in the perspective that you do and blow it up into something it's not, and that's difficult to be around also. So, here's to positve thinking and positive attitudes.

Maybe before judging the food we should all ask ourselves how much DQ or the Anderson's give back to the community. I personally work with 2 of the biggest youth organizations in Summers county & can say they have never given a dime. As a matter of fact, when asked for a donation, Wilma's response has been that they're in the business to make money not give away free stuff!! This disturbs me & is why I don't give DQ a dime of my money. I don't think I'm too wrong by responding with, "aren't the citizens of this county the one's who have helped them make all that money?" My only & final comment will be maybe they should thank about giving back - it usually comes back two-fold!!

Glad you know how to have adult conversations! Go cash your welfare check that we working people pay for. Better yet, maybe Wilma will give you a job allowing you to pay your own way rather than using our tax dollars!!

Wilma and Leonard are just making a living like all of those other businesses in Hinton, Beckley, Charleston, Atlanta etc. If you don't like the service, then don't go back, they say the next best hot dog is at Kirks, go there! Don'[t be a hater. Yeah, so they have money, so what? Keep steppin.

THIS is exactly what I was referring to. There are people on here who take ANY topic and turn it into something bad. Evidently, you have nothing better to think about. It's also apparent that you cannot have a rational discussion (whether you agree or not with a topic, isn't the issue), or contribute decently to a conversation.

Yes, I'm fully aware that I don't have to read here, but occassionally, there are topics that at least display some common sense.

This is the best point made on this thread. Any business that has been made successful by the community it serves should be willing to put a little back into that community to show its gratitude. Her attitude is an accurate depiction of the way she feels about the people of this area. Sorry, but it is true. And in her words, when referring to her employees, "they come a dime a dozen".

Just the kind of retarded comment I would expect from a jackass like you. You get on here and piss and moan about how obnoxious Finswick is, but you get on here and do the same damn thing. You bitch about Finswick, yet you are the one talking about wieners in mouths and blowing hard. The worst part is that itís not even original. All that,ďhe said wienerĒ crap is so played out. How long did it take for you to come up with that gem anyway? Did you need help from a friend, or did you just dust those Beavis &Butthead DVDs off and get your inspiration from there? I hope you didnít stain that pea size brain of yours too much, because from the sound of it you donít have too many brain cells to spare. This is exactly what 1MomOfThree was talking about. This was a thread discussing the Hinton DQ whether you love it or hate it and you get on here and hijack the thread because youíd rather turn it into something sexual. And for what reason, I donít know maybe youíre just a loser that has no life, no girlfriend, and no money, so out of boredom you spend all of your time here. Perhaps your testicles just dropped, youíre starting to get that funny feeling about girls, and youíre at an age where fart jokes and sexual references are absurdly funny to the point of being obnoxious. It could be that youíre a pimply faced little turd with a serious Napoleon complex, who got (or gets) his ass kicked on a daily basis in high school and is trying to compensate for his inadequacies on here by taking over threads with your stupidity. My bet is that it is all of the above. In any case, I think it is clear to everyone on here that you suck and the website would be a much better place if you would simply go away. You can go play with matches in an explosives factory or something. That sounds about like what someone with your IQ would find entertaining. Donít worry you wonít be missed.

Dairy Queen Hot Dogs in Hinton are still good but not as good as they used to be. Don't know what the problem is maybe the weiner. Dairy Queen on cumberland in Bluefield West Virginia hot dogs beat the hinton DQ in my opinion. If your ever in Bluefield stop by and judge for yourself.
