Sorry to have left you out! I remember Avis School. When I was a kid, it was a school dedicated to children with special needs. I remember visiting students there as a high schooler in a service club. It was a Halloween costume party. Greenbrier, Central, and Riverview consolidate around 80. So, what are your fun memories?

I remember Mae Dodd, principal. Hazel Davidson and Larry Deeds, teachers. It seems like my second grade teacher there brought in a former teacher to work with us on cursive writing. When you named Margaret Meador I wondered if it may have been her. Handwriting was very important then.

Riverview. Principal, Gary Irwin. 4 classrooms. The teachers were: Gladys Caldwell, Anna Laura Wade (my favorite teacher), and Gary Irwin. I teach now, and I was just talking about, how as kids we tumbled and roughhoused all the time. We got bloody and kept on going. It is a wonder we dodn't break arms playing Red Rover. These days kids can't play on the monkey bars like we did (they can not flip). They can not sit on top. They cannot play football at my school. In fact, they want us to plan structured play. All kids doing an organized game. So different than it was when we grew up. Blood and bruises meant that you were having fun. haha.

Remember Rocky Bottom School at Hix, Ms. Bennett. Then Greenbrier when Rocky Bottom closed, Ms. Neely, two Ms.Bashams, Ms. Mock, Ms. Hunphries, Ms. Stapinsky. Help me remember others. A friend and I got the job of delivering milk to the classrooms in the mornings. When no one was watching we would see how many we could drink. We sure did get a good dose of calcium every school day!

Sandstone .... had to be the hugginess, kissiness school ever. If you hadn't had a fling by 3rd grade you studied too much. Ha

All my memories are of Bellepoint in the late 50's.All good memories----mMs.Dodd was the principal. She could seem very mean and scary to little first graders--other teachers I remember there are--Keaton--Gunnoe--Meadows-B urdette--and my favorite Ms.Maddy. Will never forget the HUGE meals we ate at lunch-cooked by----UMMM---can't remember-----was one Mrs. Humphries from Skidmoretown??? Need help here. will never forget the fire-escape there-it was scary but fun after we had a drill.I took my grandchildren to see the school about 4 years ago (8 and 10).I was letting them run in the yard. They disappearedand (honest) the school was unlocked and they were inside. They had run through every classroom before I found them---while I was looking every room brought back so many memories.I finally got them to leave---you could tell someone had been working in there. They must have forgotten to lock the doors.Wonder what will happen to that property???

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Leo

If you're worried about running up big debts in what is usually one of the most expensive months of the year, start keeping a running total of how much money you've spent so far. You might have to restrict the amount you spend on Christmas presents, or make other savings in order to stay within your budget, but you realize the folly of ending up severely out of pocket.
