I'm sure O'Farrel doesn't see himself as a slumlord but if there ever was a slum, it is that old Hotel. He might think he is doing a good thing renting to people no one else will rent to but he sure is going to feel bad when one of those slum properties catches fire and kills the residents. Running utilities across an alley is a fire waiting to happen. Wow

Well Joel, the meter gets taken out by the power company whenever service is discontinued . To run wire from another unit is legal, and to code as long as the wire size is workable. The fact that it comes from somewhere else is irrelevant. As long as a overcurrent protection device is installed there is nothing unsafe about it.

I wonder when the city came up with any code to enforce, half the houses in Hinton are in conflict with the NEC code. But one does not have to bring any unit "up to code" until remodeling is done to that unit that is in conflict with the NEC.

Oh and when did Hinton HIRE a qualified building inspector ? The building in question has never been inspected by anyone except by Cris Meadows and Snavley, and Blankinship.

Just remember the next house could be yours ! Owning a ugly house isn't against the law

Why can't Tim let them stay there if he wants? It's his property! If he says its ok why not? It is keeping them off the street being and eye sore. I say thank you Tim for doing the public a favor and giving the street people somewhere to go besides the corner of 3rd. So I don't have to see them as I drive down town.

I know that Meter's get taken out but The Power Company has taken the wire's from the power pole to the house so it must be unsafe wireing in the building

It is clear that you are sad about losing the rent money off of that drug house. Defend all that you want to but the power meter probably got removed because it is against the rules to run electricity across an alley. If that Hotel was approved for HUD then the HUD Inspector needs to be fired today.

It's my understanding that he wasn't charging anyone anything he was just giving the homeless shelter. So why is that such a big problem?

He is a slumlord. Hinton has turned into a trashy place. I hate even coming to town. I just wish something could be done. His nasty houses are making nice neighborhoods look like hell. It is a damn shame that the good citizens of this town have to live with this filth.

I heard that Tommy Buckland and Robert Brown was paying rent and the power wire's were removed from the pole way before he run the electric across the alley [PS] Maybe the building needs to be rewired I heard that City was going to tag the house on the corner at 201 2nd. that same day but did'nt I wonder why I agree We do need some other Hud Inspector for Summers Co.

It's no reason to be homeless when some of the people are getting a SSI check each month 1 man that was living there is getting a railroad check each month some one said he get's about $ 3000 a month and 1 man lived there sold his house in Avis for $ 7000 and partyed it away buying pills and now freeloading staying where ever he can so it's no need for a homeless shelter for them

The city did itself a disservice by shutting down Dannys. It just spread things out all over the place.
