well I think that its about time they finish something they have started down there but I really don't see it possible for them to do the whole road and if they do I would love to know how they going to make the road wide enough all they way down and will it take as long to finish another mile of this road?

blahhh blahhh blah.........u people who critisize everything the commissioners try to do to help our county make me sick. U want everything perfect...timely and by the grace of GOD given to you on a silver platter instead of earning it...paying for it or helping out. If you can do a better job.....RUN4OFFICE

well I can tell you that I do not get anything handed to me on a silver platter and I would not want it either but I will say that I think I am allowed to speak my own opinion of what I think! and who said that I was criticizing the work being done I like the idea of the road and think it would be nice to get to the highway would be a much prettier drive that is for sure I just don't see how they are going to be able to widen the road all they way down maybe you have the answer?

Where do you think the problem areas are? The only one I can think of is at the Brooks falls.

that I would say is the biggest area of concern but there is a couple other places but not sure how to describe them on here but a even bigger concern about the brooks area is the cemetery at the top of that hill from the cabins for rent I think that would be a very hard spot for them to make wide enough

That happens to be my family's cemetery and there are survey markers in the field just above the fence. The road will go just above the cemetery and go that route for about 1/4 mile to miss the cliff area.

Don't worry there are people much smarter than you who figure these things out. Have you ever driven on i64? Do you think god put the 4 lane highway there?

It never ceases to amaze me that people post here solely for the purpose of calling others names and making sarcastic remarks to people trying to have a civil conversation. I live across the river from this point and I am very interested also in the route this road will take. That said, are you all saying the new road will be above the existing road at this point? Is there a step or flat area up above the road.....can't see from here...too many trees?

thanks brookie for agreeing with me on this anyhow the poster Bobcat is saying that the new road will be above the one now and its not steep just a open field it does has a bit of a incline to it but I'm sure that they would make it close to flat wouldn't be bad at all in my opinion

The cemetery is on what was my Grandfather's (Everett Meadows) farm. The field above the cemetery was a big apple orchard at one time and the farm extended from the river to the top of the mountains and from the base of the hill (the rental cabins) to approx. 1/2 mile below the cemetery. Such fond memories of my childhood spent there. All the land now belongs to the National Park Service.

I am curious as to the manner of how we are related. My mother was one of Everett's daughters; are we related on your Dad or Mom's side?

Her name was Bessie Davis and lived all of her life in the Hinton-Brooks area. Her three brothers were Luther, George and Cecil Meadows; and all of them also lived in the Hinton-Brooks area

Your Dad's name doesn't ring a bell with me. What were his parent's names?
