Oh I remember Hinton in the 70's--It was all about getting back HOME any time I could-I had married and left in 69--stayed so homesick for Hinton I thought I was gonna die. When my days from work came---my bags was packed before I went to work--left straight from work to get home.Days off flew by so fast --then back to the city to wait for next week-end.

I remember hinton in the seventies well, I just went through there the otherday and parked where the old murphy store was, walked around the block, stopped in where Doyles hardware was, no Hot Dog stand with Pops.I looked at all the empty and rundown buildings, really hard to believe that it once was a booming town.Yes things were better when Iwas young.

Van Who? Don't remember anyone named Van. Some of us are attempting to stay anonymous due to all of the crap of today (know what I mean?) It's better to generalize and recall times, places, goings on, and how great it was to have lived in that time. Hinton was a wild and fun place during that time, so I have quite a few great and fond memories of it. "The Mountain" was a great place to grow up and even better place to party. The Hippies were and Are a great group of folks to fellowship with.👽..........Pe ace Brother, hope all is well with you.

LETS MAKE A 70'S BLOCK PARTY! Dam that'd be rockin' why not? in other city's they have block parties why can't we? the waterfest is once a year only and they made it so boring that ppl are becoming disenchanted. I say we start block partys at the slide or area block that can get a permit. at least one in May and one Sept. And run by ppl who KNOW about entertainment like 1380am crew or theatre ppl. Have a 70's retro party and change to 80's or 90's to. ppl cook and bring food etc. not have to pay for everything like the waterfest. In the big cities have em so can we! locals sticking together and having fun. volunteers staying to help clean up. it can be done with some planning and the right people. Be great.

*I* remember the Red Hood and Don's farm and the long, stoney guitar and banjo sessions down at Danny's place on what is now called "New River Road". I remember going down to Freddy's (after he bought Reed's Roost) gun & knife club and getting trashed on cheap whiskey, shooting pool at Mae's, and cruising the roads over Elk Knob, down Tug Creek Connection, over Freezeland road the hard way, up Cemetery Hill, and I'll bet that NONE of you know which one is "Little Wolf Creek Mountain".

Sounds like you know yer stuff….Was Little Wolf Creek Mountain Near Timothy O's place? Or was it out the road near where Jerry G. & Danny G. stayed (you had to cross the creek to get to danny's house….)?

Yes!! I wish the town was Still like that. Now it's just a ghost town. I think mayor joe is doing a good job trying to get the town back on track. Let's come together Hinton and clean are home town up! Let's get the people on the streets looking for drugs to be well. They need help! We need some programs here to help with this problem! God bless everyone!!
