If 911 couldn't give you one, maybe the post office could? When I lived up there, 911 had to fax mine for my dirver's license.

there are no physicial address for most of summers county that is another thing 911 was supposed to do and never did. so if you have an emergency at your house they either go by the phone company records or have to get the information from someone at your house i bet we are the only county in the state that has a 911 answering service and we are paying for it. call your commissioner and complain also read the post on 911 today

When I moved into my new home I had to change my drivers licence and my new home had no physical address so I had to use the one that the power company, water, or phone company used. They were all different so I got to choose my own and then had to notify each company. Now they are all the same address. My advice to you is just pick your own and then notify the others of what you came up with...hope this helps you. Oh and by the way the post office was no help with a address because there was no route offered on the street where I live. So you may not get much help from them.

There is a post on another thread (Head of 911 dispatch) that gives insight into physical addressing. As far as picking your own address--this is not valid, you will only have to change it when the county assigns you one. BTW the Post Office does not assign physical addresses, only the county does.

Thanks JWM for your reply but I was just posting as to what I did. If and when the county gets off of their butts and assigns addresses I will be glad to change it but for now the one that I picked is doing the job.

i have been informed that 911 is currently working on this situation. please bear with them it is a dubious task and something that will take time no matter who performs it.

a dubious task from such a dumbass department? go figure, if they do this like they dispatch they will be asking everyone for a phone call to get it done. this is a shame we pay for such poor service

They always ask for it when you call an ambulance and I don't have a clue as to what they mean.

I had to call the court house and ask them about getting a 911 address to get Suddenlink hooked up. I was told that Summers County is not yet 911 complient.

I doubt anyone at the Courthouse would have that info. Physical addresses are assigned through the county's 911 office.

Summers County 911 got me my physical address for Suddenlink, when Raleigh county "didn't have time". Then they took the credit for it after Summers County 911 contacted them and said it was done. LOL!!

As I understand it, Summers County has not completed assigning everyone a physical address. Ask them when they expect to have your location completed.

Yes, they do. Call them and ask to speak to someone in Addressing. That's what I did and talked to a Steve.
