I suppose what I am getting at is this, What is the actual price of electricity in our state or any state for that matter?

So Maine's high cost are the fault of Maine Tankee when it was open and is still the cause now that it is closed? Wow, what a flotila of great minds on this thread... If the nuclear power industry came up with a way in the furure to reduce the costs of purchased electricity by 90% some half assed hippie would still be finding fault.
Close em all down and buy our power from France who has close to sixty operating reactors in a country smaller than the New England and Mid Atlantic states ....

"While renewables are expensive today -- between 15 and 30 cents per kilowatt hour -- costs are bound to go down as the technologies improve, said Shumlin.
Vermont can be part of an "extraordinary economic boom" if it gets moving on renewable energy today, he said."
And if we have to drive the ratepayers to bankruptcy and food stamps ....we'll do it!
A little more attention to infrastructure problems is warranted.
Anyone wanna buy a bridge?

Except France’s nuclear industry is cratering as we speak.
All of the New England electric system is under the Ayn Rand republican management philosophy...it is called trusting the free market.
