Additionally, 80% of the states are not in the North East. They have state goverments that promote business and allow utilities to build and run the types of plants that allow cheap electicity and they regulate the utilites. The North East deregulated years ago because they thought it would be cheaper. You play you pay. No the large users wanted special rates of electricity....that is why dereg was born. This whole thing of deregulation and the NE ISO is a concoction of the Ayn Rand republicans...and the democrats just caved.

My guess is you are still mad because you got the boot from the previous owners of the station and can not get over it so you keep making up stories and lies to make yourself feel better about lossing a good paying job. What do you think of all those VY employees who come talk to me about their problems? Remember the internet was just developing and blogging was not invented yet. The world of the internet has changed 5 or more times since 1993. On the other hand, the VY systems are almost exactly like they were in 1993...except older.

Why does it even need fenceline monitors? Just what are we going to do with the waste? Do we trust Enrontergy or Enronexus or whatever their name is this week? There is no safe level of exposure for ionizing radiation and there are radionuclide emissions from that reactor whether or not they fall within federal guidelines so do not try to tell me that the reactor is not affecting my world. My world, and my brothers and sisters, are not constrained to the artificial borders called Massachusetts. My brothers and sisters live on reservations where uranium is mined. They live in Barnwell. They live in Piketon and Paducah. They fish in the Arctic Circle where there are radionuclides from French reprocessing. Don't tell me your sweet, valued, dear VY is not [messing] up my world. Cancer rates in Windham county are the lowest in the state. VT allows the lowest dose of any state in the US, while the NRC permits 100, VT permits 20. http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections... please take the time to read the above link.

Why won't the private Utility companies announce where they are getting their future power? Are the other contracts too good? Are there too many clean options? Is there some collusion with Entergy going on? Is the potential profit sharing agreement which benefits Utility execs and shareholders really a benefit to VT power consumers or the environment? Do we need poisonous nuclear power at all? I doubt it. Efficiency is the cheapest power solution. The Utilities don't like that option, because they end up with too much supply and not enough demand. Consumers, meanwhile, would be sitting pretty. Buying appliances that will pay for themselves in energy savings in 1.5 to 2 years, like energy star refrigerators, washers, dryers saves us money, keeps the lights on, stimulates the local economy, leads to jobs, and leaves the Utilities sitting on electrons they don't need and can't sell. Fess up, CVPS and GMP. Who's selling you power?
