Vermont moving toward electronic prescriptions

More doctors will be making the change to electronic prescriptions after Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., announced Friday that the state would be receiving a $1 million federal grant to support the change.

Oh just great what I'm I going to do now with all these script pads from the doctors. well may have to get a fake license or Id maybe two or more I would be a addict on the move like all the others. Anyone know how to get into that system

Electronic medical prescriptions mean you can pick up your prescription at any pharmacy wherever you are. It also prevents drug abusers from getting multiple prescriptions for narcotics which they then sell to addicts and criminals. That's actually a big problem around here.

You seem like a better candidate for cave dwelling than me. You can
also believe I complained a lot more about the so-called "Patriot Act".
The main thing that this act did was to make the Tel-Coms immune
from prosecution and to actually justify the spying that had been
going on for years, before 9/11.

BTW: Freedom in this country is pretty much down the the toilet
anyway.

I would much rather carry my own script to the pharmacy. They enter it into the computer which is then sent to the middleman who then forwards it to the pharmacy of your choice. The only problemis this can take 1/2 hr to 3 or 4 hours. I don't know about the rest of you but personally when I get meds it is usually because I am sick and the sooner I get them the sooner I start feeling better not to mention some people have schedules to follow or have to arrange transportaion to pu their meds. Let's inconvience the public a little more.

or how about the doctors office asks the customer which pharmacy they use and by the time the customer arrives their order is waiting for them because it was basicly called in from the doctors office over the computer.

Another advantage of the system would be to stop guys like Rush & Mike Jackson from abusing the system and drug pushing Doctors would also leave a trail to follow. Some Doctors are only in business to give people access to drugs, basiclly amounts to go bribe the guy to get some. He bills medicaid or medicare for an office visit and everyone else pays for some drug addicts fix on top of it.

Legal drug abuse is very widespread in this county,lots of middle aged woman are more drugged out than the worst group of party kids at a college.
