Murphy is a great choice for governor. I have paid attention to him since he was on the Harper college board, and had hoped he would enter the race. Our state needs a smart, honest, family man like Murphy.

If this is Matt "guitar" Murphy who played with Howlin' Wolf, Memphis Slim, James Cotton, Otis Rush, Etta James, Chuck Berry, and yes, The Blues Brothers, then he certainly has my vote. It's about time we get a blues musician in the Governor's office.

I met Matt at Streetfest in Palatine a couple years ago when he was running for office, when I asked him some questions about policy. He came off as a big, dumb, meathead. He mumbled something about "You have to do what you believe and believe what you do!"
C'mon Alan, Illinois needs a Keyes/Oberweis double bill!!

I don't buy that any current member of the very General Assembly that punted on meaningful ethics reform is somehow a breath of fresh air. Party labels are irrelevant. The Republicans have their own special interests and constituencies to pander to and pay off. Until we completely clean house and boot out every last Democrat and Republican currently sitting in Springfield, it'll be business as usual no matter who's sitting in the Governor's Mansion and which party controls the General Assembly.

Let the media bashing begin, I'm sure the liberal press will do everything in their power to ensure a conservative never gets elected again in this country.

I agree 100% and what is more we need TERM LIMITS for all state and municipal offices. Notice how NONE of the "candidates" and NONE of the incumbents ever mention this.

Cause they are going to win how soon the left forgets that a SHORT time ago they were OBSOLETE too.. sometimes it amazes me that people are so arrogant on both sides, as to call the other side names or is it physiological war fare.. no ones cares it doesn't work..

THE media can only say republican candidates are "DUMB" to scare away good and innovative candidates from the races.

THE media only want bought and paid for flunkies who have a lot of baggage.

Murphys will unite and win the ELECTION!

On scale from one to ten the democrats are ZERO and Murphy is at least a 7 POINT SUCCESS.

Aren't there laws limiting the length, AND START, of the campaigning season?
Isn't it illegal for him to be campaigning for governor already?
