The art of designing a model home

Model homes can look worlds apart but broadcast the same message: You're comfortable here -- you're home.

I share the goal that the decor of a model home should make the visitor feel at home there. But I've never seen a model home decorated like this. They look nothing like the homes of my friends and relatvies where people actually live. Instead, they look like spreads for cover articles in magazines devoted to interior decoration. For example, the huge bouquets of flowers on the counter top by the bathroom sink. They're just in the way of people who want to use the sink for its intended purpose. Who does this flower thing in their own home? Ridiculous! I design houses myself (preliminary floor plans) and have enough talent to decorate the model homes, too. I guarantee visitors to my homes, when I get the work opportunity, will feel right at home.

well that's all good and all but people do like to put flowers in their bathrooms (for freshness and all) i do too so i don't think there is anything wrong in that.
