you can say what you want, Hinesville is a trap for military and family. it is a fact that the town was built off dollars taken from the military. during desert storm the town went broke, until the military came back.go to some of the attorneys office. Hmmm now you see what they do with the money. have you been to a judge, police,or a attorny? Green acres or the duke of hazzards have nothing on Hinesville. It is no reason for gas,Taxes or price to go up in Hinesville. It is not going to the city,So who pockets is it really going into? airdeleaza i would have taken pictures of it and truned it into the news.but don't worry they would not have reported. one one the top three family would have paid them off. did i tell you they have the judge and the law in thier pockets.

Hmmm 2010, and everything is still the same. new house's no jobs.price up but the state and senators get a raise taxes up this year to pay for what? I think it is boston tea partie time.

i retire from Ft Stewart and i can tell you frist hand that this place is a money trap for the military and it family, the bad part about it is the judge, attornys and police all work together to steal money from the military.however the governor and everyone in office cover it up. i agree with orgun, because i seen it frist hand and have the documents to prove it. the strang part about this is that you have people around the city to help them.it going on five years and they still covering up. check out this. Seriously Justice! Are you just complaining because you don't know how to help yourself? You could live on post, or Richmond Hill. Hinesville is not where the Army put you. If you don't like Hinesville then don't give it your business. MOVE! I live on post and I love it here. I have been to many military bases in the past 13 yrs, and this is the best one yet. I hope we can stay here as long as possible. Perhaps you need a hobby. I find plenty to do around here with and without my kids. I am not a club hopper. I am a mother of two and find things such as the drive to Jesup Drive-in Theater worth the gas. The prices are very low and include double features. The other posters are right, inflation has caused prices to go up all over the U.S., so i don't know what you are expecting. The YMCA is off post and offers tons to do. It has a pool, workout equipment, and offers parents nights out for the military. As a matter of fact we had a blast this Halloween at the Haunted Forest. I think you are in a mental funk and it doesn't matter how anything is...you just won't leave your house and explore your options... I hope you can blow the dust off soon.

Religion is the act of attempting to map out a path to achieving consistent spiritual goals. Unfortunately, religion has sometimes fall into the hands of some wacky people. If someone comes to you and professes to be able to solve your problems by some religious or spiritual path, beware! Life will always be difficult. There is no one that can wrap you in cocoon of religion and save you from all negativity. Religion has been used for good and evil throughout history. Make sure you're on the right side.

Sit back and listen while you are downtown to the real people of Hinesville.(The Business Owners) I was in a certain shop on main street and I heard the owners say how much they hated the military people that came in there. Said the military was always looking for some kind of discount.
During the first massive deployment these same business owners started crying about all the military being gone and their business feeling the loss of military spending.
This store bashed the military one day and prayed for them to come back the next. I never stepped foot in that shop again I would rather go buy it new somewhere else.

If anything, Hinesville is anti-civilian. Any amenities that exist exist ON POST, not in town.
The town itself is full of shabby rental propeties maintained only for the purpose of renting to military personnel. In short, for all intents and purposes, Hinesville is a kind of imaginary community built around a transient population.

Those of us who live in the surrounding areas struggle with finding things for our childern and ourselves to do for recreation with no hope of improvement in signt unless we choose to move away. No, Hinesville has nothing to offer us, except perhaps horrible traffic jams when the troops are home.

Bocci ball, net flix, jarts, volleyball, horse shoes, corn hole, take the dog for a walk,BBQ, bargain shop, go hunting, fishing, have a camp fire in the back yard....
I don't think anyone knows how to amuse themselves anymore. Most people seem to think that a town without a mall or amusement park stinks....what about the traffic that will bring. Be careful what you wish for. I think that the people who have the gall to complain about a town that doesn't offer enough are probably the same people who spend multiple hours on the computer, in front of the TV or playing video games... only getting off them to complain there way right back to the same seat, because that is where they are truly content!
For those who complain this town hates them...I listed plenty to do that doesn't really give a lot of business to the town...try it, some time...blow the dust off. If you look in the mirror and think how hard it is to loose weight, perhaps my advice could be of beneFIT to you. This is an over-eating, over tech-ing country of fatsos who complain all day about what OTHERS don't do for them...

maybe if the soldiers didnt treat the average citizen like shit and act like they were entitled to every thing, there wouldnt be so much hostility. this town sucks ass, but when everybody walks around with such a huge chip on their shoulders, it doesnt make it better for anybody. grow up.
ps every business in this town offers AT LEAST a 10% discount to military. how can you even act like hinesville is anti military?

maybe there are a few "soldiers" that treat "the average citizen" like shit but don't say that all of them do. but don't try and act like hinesville is all nice and friendly to everyone.
half the people in this town are the ones who act like they are better than everyone else

thats true. not all of them do, but the many that do make enough of an impression that, personally, i try to avoid all of them in general. and no, i dont think hinesville is nice or friendly to anybody.(although, the discount thing... i mean. wheres the teacher discounts? anyway.)but thats a big chunk of the problem and i think most people have come to realize that. just walk through walmart for 5 minutes and count the scowls on everybody's faces. it seems like everybody is PISSED OFF ALL THE TIME. this town kills your soul slowly. i say we all get together and burn this bitch down.(just kidding. sort of.)

There are two, not one but two, bowling alleys on post. I have never been ID'd at either of them. I've seen people from town in there all the time bowling. The post has been and is very liberal with letting people from the town come on post to enjoy the activities that they have. There are lots of things to do here. Cypress Sam's, playgrounds, bike and hiking trails, Holbrook Pond, the library, this weekend is the MWR Yard Sale and there is usually a set up for kids stuff there, there are movie theaters on and off post, there's lots to do, quit griping.
I’ve lived in Hinesville, Ludowici, and Glennville Georgia for over 74 years except for the 20+ years I service on active military duty at various locations through out the US and overseas where we did sometimes have inadequate facilities, but not in Hinesville, Ludowici, or Glennville Georgia over the last number of years. Hinesville is not Savannah, Macon, Columbus, or Atlanta but for a rural town that serves so many of our hero’s and their families it’s just great here and I’m proud to be part of the local communities.“JUSTICE” I suggest you also become a part of these communities and help to make it even better. We are Patriotic Americans that live here and most of us have served honorable in our country in the armed forces. Help us make your stay here even more enjoyable – you might even want to consider making this area “your home away from home” or even your home town and stay with us after your military duty is finished - many have. I welcome you to Fort Stewart, Hinesville, Ludowici, and Glennville where I believe most of the local community residents are also happy to have the active, national guards, and retired military personnel here.

WOW! Sunshinee, way to support your husband's career. Do you really think that the "higher ups" are so cocky, or do you and your crowd just feel inferior?

Stuck in H hole... what are you ten? I think you need soap in your mouth! Apparently you are not classy enough to watch the language and have respect for the other posters. On top that did you really need to pick on a 74 year old? The way you act will not convince me you came from a BETTER place, since you are obviously such scum.
