To the idiot that said Billy should have been put to death, you must be part of the legal system that did this to him. You are the one that God will send to hell, Billy should have walked out of the court room that day, and I Pray to God he gets out asap!! His only problem.. He told the truth, he wasn't a druggie he paid the bills and bought food for his family. If the sheriff hadn't lied on the stand, things would have been much different!! He will be free!! There are too many of us that want him out!! Should have already been out!! Jesus please be with Billy through all of this!! Show them that You have the power to free Billy!! God Bless You Billy!! Love from N. C.

You have to be crazy!! Or the judge, or sheriff that helped put him away!! He should have never been convicted in the first place! I Pray to God that he is released very soon, he has been on my mind for years now and if I could have three wishes.. One would be for him to get out and sue the hell out of the police department, the second would be for Betty Broderick to be released.. I Love these two people and I feel their pain!! God Bless You Billy, I am on your side, God will punish all the liars, etc.
I'm crazy? Maybe your not familiar with the justice system but the judge or sheriff doesn't pronounce guilt on the accused. The jury does. Why would he sue the police department? For arresting him for murder? What were they supposed to do, congratulate him? Do you honestly think that if you have been wronged that you have the right to take matters into your own hands? If so, we can abolish all law enforcement and the judicial system and render punishment as we see fit. See how that works out. I can just imagine " My neighbor plays his music too loud so I stole his radio and smashed it". If he was being abused why didn't he leave? Billy was a grown man, and didn't have to stay there. Had he killed Thurman when he was beating him, it would have been self-defense. To wait until he was asleep was cold blooded murder.

Karen, I know that the Sheriff and the grandfather were more friends than he admitted, but what makes you think the Sheriff was part of the KKK???? I myself do not believe this. I could see the granfather being a part of it but not the Sheriff. Where did you get this information. And highly doubt the judge was either. And what neighbor reported it, everyone I saw during that case "knew" about the abuse but when asked if they ever told about it they all said no. which is bull if they knew this is going on. Again though would like how you know about the KKK stuff you mentioned.
You must not be from the South honey, down here your preacher can be in the KKK, not to mention judges, sheriff, deputy, you name it and it can be for sure that some are. If you think that's the only old mean ass man buried in the tomato garden you are way off base. As my mama always said.. Give the devil his due.. That's what Billy had to do, if you have never been abused in any way you won't understand. I do wish that Billy or one of them would have killed him during one of his rampage but they were terrorized and tortured by the old bastard. They were scared to death of him, you will never understand why, if you haven't been through it. Even if he did kill him in self defense, the outcome would have been the same or worse. It is plain to see the judge had it in for Billy!!! I WILL PRAY for his release and I will do anything to help him during the parole process. God Bless You Billy, We are rooting for you!!! Can't wait to see you walk out of that man made hell, Billy you don't deserve to be punished for anything. You have been in hell all ya life, time for you to fly... Love to you an yours... You don't know how things are in the South, I am sorry if you're upset... Have you ever been so scared of someone that you can't even look up when they are near??? That's what he went through his whole life.. When you are in that position you can't get away, G'pa didn't pay him for working he didn't have any money to leave, and there's no way he would leave his sister. Buy the way the jury was on his side, if they had known that he could get that much time for the so called armed robbery they never would have even considered conviction!!! That is fact!! The judge is the one that sentenced him to life for that. If the sheriff hadn't lied on the stand about the abuse and his friendship with G'pa it may have been different, I doubt it though. He should be charged with purgery.. That will never happen, God Bless Billy... See ya soon!!!

Billy is still waiting to hear about his Parole I have spoken with the Parole Board it should be anytime now. Thanks for all the support on here for Billy and the one who don't support him they are entitled to their own belief, but nobody knows what they would of done until they are faced with a situation as this...Billy really is praying for his freedom and we hope to have a answer soon, so plz keep praying.
I have read a comment on here that said according to his wife if he is denied he could be set off many yrs plz people I said no such thing, if you read it correctly those were Steve Hayes words not mine...
There was one website that got out of hand with people saying some crazy things. I had hoped this one would not, but seems a few have been offended. I would just say your prays for Billy and not let shallow statements get to anyone on here.
I really believe Billy will be considered for Parole and his words is he appreciates all the support ,but he really wants to just be left alone.

I remember seeing this case on CourtTV during the trial as a young teen. I was appalled and cried when they described how mean the grandfather was. Recently I have been wanting to locate the episode to watch again to no avail. Does anyone have any idea if this can be viewed online or bought somewhere? I'd love to watch this again as an adult.

I just saw it again on Investigation Discovery. You can probably go to their web site and see when it will show again. I hope that he will make parole real soon.

I too have been watching for news of Billy's parole for months. I can't believe it has taken the parole board this long. What is it with Georgia? Perhaps Billy's wife will give us the answer or at least what she knows.

Amused, if you can't understand what I wrote then I don't know. The family was innocent. Therefore they should not be judged in my opinion. No one should have to have gone what they have. So for someone to say they should be put to death is wrong. Thurmon Martin was a evil bastard, If you knew or cared what vile, unimaginable, disgusting things he did to his family, or if it were your family or your children you would feel differently I'm sure. and I do hope he is in hell where he belongs along with his son who beat the shit out of a woman with a tire tool who was broke down on the side of the road almost killing her and raping her!! Judging innocent victims and judging two monsters are a little different I would say. And to be honest I really could care less of your opinion on this since it is so "amusing", not a damn thing about this whole situation is amusing! And thats why he is in prison???, get your facts straight about why he is there. He was not even charged with murder. so no that is not why he is in prison! Billy, may you get out soon, you don't deserve this.

It has not been granted yet. I think they have have had the parole hearing. Billy was not allowed to even attend according to his wife. Havent heard of a decision. Dont know how long it takes them to make a decision, or if they have made one. surely not or we would have heard. I hope he gets out, he has spent way too long there as it is and they say it will be something like 12 years before he is up for parole again. this is according to his wife, she had a website up but now it is down. But he was not paroled in April I do know that family friend. and what have you heard family friend?? anything
Angie, this is Billy's wife do I know you ,or have we spoken on another site I don't believe I ever said anything about if Billy doesn't make Parole it would be like 12 yrs before he can come back up. I was just curious.
