I used to go to church and was very involved in its inner workings. It was something I looked forward to on sunday and any meetings or study sessions during the week.It was a soul filling event.I was raised in church, and spent most of 40 years there.THEN-------After the bible was thrown out the revolving door and the pews were given away, the pulpit was thrown in the roll offdumpster, the windows were blacked out,a stage was put in and painted black with mirrors to reflect light, sound boards were installed, computer lighting was put everywhere, and loud obnoxious what they called MUSIC was blasted in,singing off the wall to 5 words-100 different times,I had enough.I looked at it as I walked away and couldn't believe it had gone to the devil like everything else.I walked out that revolving door never to go back thru again. Not in THAT sense.I am happier without it.I am no longer PLUGGED IN,as some call it,I am no longer SERVING, as they call it,I am no longer involved in anything it has to offer,I have requested my letter to be moved from the revolving door church and now DO NOT associate myself WITH it.If brain washing is where you want to go, then you probably need to be there, but having to be told every move to make and only a select few making the entire decisions on everything, all they now want you to do is GIVE--GIVE more --and GIVE EXTRA in the name of GOD.I am no longer involved. If it is foreclosed on when one of them SELECT FEW have their feelings hurt, thats GREAT! It can always be turned into a local watering hole simply by adding a cash bar, a DJ and a few slutty women on the stage..Everything else is there. Its no place fit to have a funeral anymore. Its no place decent to have a wedding. Its no place decent to have reverence and worship in the presence of God..Churches are falling all over themselves to go to contemporary status, but they are losing the core members and the people who kept the church afloat.Good luck with that, and If you didnt throw God in the roll off dumpster along with the bible and pulpit, maybe he will stop by some day and see what you have going on, but I won't be with him.I have already told him I am not going there.I am looking for a new church along with ALOT of the other members. Most have gone to ANOTHER baptist church down hwy 27 south where God is light, and the bible still stands proud on the communion table instead of hid in the back room for those few who still want to make out like they are at church..celebrating the lords supper is now something you do in private if you know where the wine and body are located. Its not in the church.I would hate to be the pastor there and have to answer for steering the sheep away from the shepherd and leading them astray, but thats HIS problem.I feel sorry for the people who worship the pastor, instead of the lord. What will you poor souls do when he decides everything is not going his way and LEAVE? Will you follow the shepherd or stand solid with the new God you worship at the church you redesigned?Just some thoughts to ponder....speaking of a revolving door church.ALl one has to do is throw a rock in the door and the door stops, FOR GOOD.AS long as everything can be smoothed over when some one exits and the crowd eventually notices,I am sure they can make a great excuse why that member is no longer there.Maybe they moved or forgot their way there,or possibly their car quit and they have no way.I am sure it is smoothed over well to keep peace among the flock. One sheep jumps the fence and the flock starts getting restless.I see these churches that are following the leader now for sale around town.CHURCH FOR SALE.The show must be over for them, any broadway show can't have but so many CURTAIN CALLS.Eventually the revolving doors stop revolving when there is noone there to keep it turning.
GOD IS LIGHT-SIN IS DARKNESS.may God bless you!
