I live next to the fire. Extinguished my big fat @$$. I understand let the fuels of a wild fire burn up instead of conducting mop-up procedures. Exceptions are when the fire is endangering densely populated areas. The folks that live within a mile of the fire in multiple directions are breathing the hazardous smoke. This is long term exposure. Children, elderly, those with chronic lung disorders are in real danger. Not a word from our public health officials (that I am aware of, and I have been looking for that word). When is the County & City going to put this thing out? If they cannot, when are the going to notify residents of this fact. I forsee this fire burning for months to come -- and those that are living with it will see their health deteriorate.
