Biden was talking to parent magazine. Did you expect him to say hunny go out on the back porch and blast em?

it's bad advice cause alot of those people don't know didley about a gun so they hear this guy give that kind of advice and they'll be dumb enough to follow it.
And yes that exactly what he should have told "hunny" to do!

That's a touchy subject. IF a weapon is found (a knife or gun) with his or her prints on it, then you are less likely to have a problem.

Law enforcement has long had an answer to that; they kept an "eraser" under the front seat, a small gun that can't be traced by paperwork. If the person turned out to be unarmed, that weapon was put in his or her cold, dead hand, to put their prints on it, thus saving days of filling out paperwork.

I know. The instructor didn't seem concerned about it. He just said it was a myth that a person had better drag someone inside.

FYI, we also learned that if you hear a strange noise(like a person rumaging around) inside your house, DON'T go looking for whatever is making the noise. You should arm yourself and hide, but not hide so that you CAN'T SEE if an intruder enters the room where you are.(You may already know this. Just passing it on.) Aim for the chest.

My,my. You people have sure been gabbing since I I been away from my computer. Yes, It is really me. I am the real Bigdave1. Now I am beginning to understand how some you people think. You are paranoid and afraid to see factual truths. That is your problem not mine.
If anyone dares to actually think about things that do not fit into your little scheme of small thoughts you all gang up and try to discredit him. This usually has something to do with what Obama did or didn't do or caused or didn't cause. If I happen to think that Obama is causing this country to go into an economic collapse, then that is what I think. If I foresee bad things happening after a collapse, then that is what I think and see. I told you before that I am a realist. I pray that this country will never see such an economic collapse and I hope I am wrong but if things do not change that is what we are in for. It isn't going to happen just because I have written about it! It will be caused by Obama.
America has become a socialist state and I didn't cause that.
Biden is correct about one thing. A shotgun is a mighty mean weapon. They were used in Viet Nam and effectively in the jungles. The M-16, the newer version of the AR-15, used the .223 cartridge. It traveled at a very high velocity and twigs, branches, underbrush, would divert the accuracy of a shot. A shot gun under such conditions especially in close quarters was very effective. Using one in a home is o.k. but having a long barrel is a disadvantage. The barrel should be cut down as far as physically and legally possible for in home combat. BTW I never wanted to give anyone the idea that I was talking about a burglar entering your home. It will be small armies of people swarming your neighbor hood looking for anything that they can use. In that situation a shotgun would be good but you will still be overrun killed by them.
Again I assure you paranoids that This is the only real me. If you don't buy that then so be it.

I do know this much. You can not shoot a peeping tom outside your house. If you do you will go to jail.

I'm just telling you what the instructor of the gun safety class told us. The class was held at the Sheriff's Department and some type of law enforcement person taught the class. I asked specifically if it was true that if you shot someone outside the door of your home, should you drag them inside as we've all been told. He said absolutely not. If you feel your life is being threatened, you can shoot. He said nothing about retreating. It's all about feeling threatened. I know that sounds as if that leaves a lot of room for problems, but that is what the class was taught. My guess is that if you are a respectable person and a three times arrested burgler gets shot outside your home, law enforcement is more than likely going to believe your version of the story.
Define "feel" and "feeling" threatened because the lead investigator certainly will. He should have said if you ARE being threatened (with a weapon). The law in every state in the Union requires you to retreat as far as you can and if at all possible, before you take a life.

And the best weapon? Take Joe Biden's advice and get a shotgun! It'll blow out your eardrums and take you a week to replace the damage to your walls, and you'll have to repaint but you'll at least have peace and quiet, especially quiet, while you're working! ;o)

Apparently you are the one who is paranoid.

I was not referring to you at all. Those who have been on this forum for a while know who "Little Davey" is - he goes by "The Mountains Voice" or "Mountains Storehouse" or sometimes "Jack" and a hundred other names, no doubt.

There are a few people on here who sound like him. Not you. You're too slow to be Little Davey (and obviously too big).

I'll take a .45 ACP any day for room to room combat in a home. A wonderful old weapon, especially if worked over by a competent gunsmith. Deadly accurate. Has tremendous knockdown. Won't go into your next door neighbors house.

He didn't mention one weapon being better than another. We each brought our own weapons and that is what we used to practice with, etc.

The instructor didn't address that and no one asked. I wouldn't shoot a peeping tom. I would call 911 on that one. I CAN understand why the shooter would be charged in that scenario.

You might want to go back and reread your post. You did ask about the koolaid.
