McElyea commits suicide at Fayetteville Walmart

David McElyea, the self-proclaimed "Marijuana Moonshiner" that authored the book, "When Money Grew On Trees," detailing his time as a marijuana grower in Madison County and his friendship with the late Sheriff Ralph Baker, died Wednesday evening after cutting his throat at a Fayetteville Walmart.
