Four Knott County officials, including Judge Executive Randy Thompson, were sentenced to prison time for vote fraud and misusing county funds.

Four Knott County officials, including Judge Executive Randy Thompson, were sentenced to prison time for vote fraud and misusing county funds.

A judge handed down the sentences Monday night at the federal courthouse in Pikeville.

The men were ordered to pay more than $238,000 to Knott county fiscal court are not allowed to hold a public office ever again.

All four are currently free on bond, but must report to prison on March 23rd to begin serving their time.

Randy Thompson
40 months in prison
3 years supervised release
Pay $200 fine to court
Pay $238,793 in restitution to Knott County Fiscal Court
Cannot hold public office again
Cannot have a firearm

John Mac Combs
36 months in prison
3 years supervised release
Pay $200 fine to court
Pay $238,793 in restitution to Knott County Fiscal Court
Cannot hold public office again
Cannot have a firearm

Phillip Champion
18 months in prison
3 years supervised release
Pay $100 fine to court
Pay $238,793 in restitution to Knott County Fiscal Court
Cannot hold public office again
Cannot have a firearm

Ronnie Adams
32 months in prison
3 years supervised release
Pay $300 fine to court
Pay $238,793 in restitution to Knott County Fiscal Court
Cannot hold public office again
Cannot have a firearm

All four are out on bond. They are scheduled to report to prison on March 23, 2009.

They have the right to appeal the sentence.

Attorneys for all four men say they plan to appeal.
