I quit working there and I just have to tell how bad it is there! They are some very good workers there but most of them are not worth anything! There is one that works there she has long black hair shes been there for awhile but she does nothing she just stands there and tries to boss the new people around so she dont have to work. The other is a girl named angie, she runs around that place like she is working her but off but if anyone would go in and watch he work she dont even bath the people completly she just washes the "dirty areas"
They are a lot of good workers there and they are amazing for what they really do.

I quit working at the knott county nursing home also, I can say this the administration wants the patients took care of, but will not treat staff with respect, the staff are over worked, and very under paid. So why should the staff work like dogs for nothing but a hard time. Administration worries too much about appearance!! They do what makes them look good. From what I hear in the community they are not looking so good to anyone anymore.

My gandma is a resident there. We visit her regularly. Everything seems great and she loves it. All the nurses I've met are wonderful.

They might be under paid and over worked but that dont give anyone the right to abuse the residents! If you cant do the job I dont think you should be there! It's funny but when a family member comes in they treat the resident amazing but as soon as they leave you can bet they probably wont be checked on for a long time. Im not sure what the black hair womans name is she is probably in her 40's to be honest she kinda looks like a witch!

Here we go again....someone wanting to trash the nursing home.I'm under the impression that these posts get started by workers who couldn't handle the job,and now have to bitch and throw off on the ones who are actually working there.I know several who work there, and visit a relative there regularly as well. The workers do a great job,and it is a great facility. There is absolutely NO WAY to please all the people all the time....somebody is gonna have to bitch sometime or another. Those girls have an extremely hard job,and for the most part....a thankless job. So,to anybody who thinks they can do better, then go do it.Otherwise, quit throwing off on the ones who are working their asses off.

No one is throwing of on the ones who really do work. It is a very hard job and like i said they are some amazing people who work there and they do a great job. Like anywhere there are some bad ones too if you never worked there then you dont know how it really is so maybe you need to keep off this post. You cant please everyone but all the residents that are there deserve the right to be clean, safe, and comfortable and its sad to say but most lay in their rooms for hours with out any care. so unless you know how it really is i wouldnt open my mouth.

I do know how it really is.I've probably spent more time there than you did.The residents are NOT mistreated or ignored. So,unless you can handle the job and do it better, you shouldn't open your mouth to throw off on workers who ARE doing it.The nursing home already has to deal with the publics' misguided impressions, they sure don't need you adding fuel to the fire.Your statement about them laying for hours without care is a blatant lie.I know better.

I worked there for almost a year, I would tell myself I'm going to quit but I never could bring myself to leave cause I felt like i was making some sort of difference. BTW I'm still handling the job I work full time at the hospital. SO maybe you should just shut your mouth and find something else to do besides talk about something you know nothing about.

I am sorry to burst your bubble but they dont take care of the people the way they should cause i use to work there about 10 years ago and sounds to me like it is still the same way..... They wouldnt bath the people the way they should and sometimes they would eat their snacks or through them away so they didnt have to feed them..... So if you dont work there then you dont know what gose on and when your there of course they are gona be good to the people...... They didnt asked to be put there so they need to be treated with some respect..........

I'll talk about whatever the hell I please...if you don't like it,don't read it.Working at a hospital is kids play compared to a nursing home...everyone knows that. It's obvious from your statements that you just couldn't handle the job there. No shame in that....not everyone is cut out for a job like that. But that doesn't mean you should throw off on the workers who are handling the job.As for whoever commented about Nancy Turner....Nancy is one of the few who have been there for umpteen years, and actually does a great job.

As it is obviously pointless to keep arguing this point with folks who just want to throw off on the nursing home....here's a suggestion to anyone interested.Try visiting there, and see for yourselves what goes on.The residents love having visitors, and the faculty encourage anyone to do so.Talk to the residents, ask them how they are treated.Ask them if they are fed, bathed, and generally well taken care of.Then you'll know for yourselves what a crock some of these statements are.

I worked there about 4 years ago and nancy turner was there. she by far is one of the worst workers. I remember she was supposed to show me around and help me out my first day, well she sat in the chair by the bed bossing me around. She would not lift a finger! I did all of her residents that day while she sat there watching tv and barking orders. Then she took credit for doing all of the work. She should be investigated for the way she does her job! There are many more stories I could tell you about that place but the two story that sticks out the most is when i was still new and the was showing me so called short cuts to bathing the residents well the way they do it is you wash under the arms and their privates, thats it. Then another story about that hard worker nancy she let a patient lay in their own feces for about an hour or so then she ordered me to clean him because he was mad at her and she didn't want him to scream at her. so yeah she is a wonderful worker.
CNA's are a big help in a nursing home but they need so much more training they shouldnt just let anyone take a 75hr class and be able to take care of someone. Just so you know redneck woman the hospital is nothing compared to the nursing home! nurses who cant cut it in the hospital end up working at nursing homes.

Think you got that reversed....nurses who can't cut it at the nursing home end up going to the hospital or a clinic or whatever.Just for argument sake though...if,as you all say,the conditions were so bad.....then what does that make you all for running off and leaving? I'd be ashamed to say that I witnessed such and just left without trying to make things better. You know you're full of sh*t,couldn't cut it,and now want to throw off.Furthermore,if I ever need to be in a nursing home....you can bet that's the one I'll be in.Y'all can kiss this old bats @ss.No,I won't shut up and I'll post anytime I want to.Whatcha gonna do bout it? LOL Yeh,thats what I thought.
