So over the summer a full time fireman and paramedic(Adam Welton) from our very own Somonauk Fire Dept. decides that it will be a good idea to throw himself a b-day party with all his friends. Even though it is a week after the 4th of July he feels it is ok for him and his friends to light off illegal fireworks in a residential neighborhood. After several failed attempts by the local police to put an end to the fireworks a neighbors property finally has significant damage done to it. Charges are filed and the supposed rescue worker (who took an oath to protect and save others) is arrested. Now I wonder why this arrest was never printed in any of the local papers. It is wonderful to know that a fireman can knowingly contribute to illegal actions and endanger the lives and safety of others and have not a single consequence. It is also great to know we have such trusting people representing our fire department.

It is important that we have a corrupt town. As long as you know people do what you would like. The stupid supposed rescue worker got off free and clean. How about you let me know your name and address then so you can pay the $5000.00 worth of damage to my car and home. My children could have been burnt down in their own home by an idiot that is supposed to protect lives. So sorry that the well being of my family and property isn't a concern to you but it is to me. You dont even live in the town or state so what business do you have worrying about it. Yes there is some sort of corruption where ever you live. Adam was found NOT GUILTY of any wrong doing. Get your facts straight before you make false accusations against someone. To my understanding someone else did the damage and he doesn't have anything to do with the dept.

Yeah he wasn't found guilty because of a bunch of losers who lied for him. Like the Pregnant,married woman out partying with drunks till after 1 a.m. with no reason to be at that place anyways. She should have been with her children and husband. So whom ever you are reffering to as having a not so nice career, get your facts straight about which side you are speaking about. The family it happened to is a wonderful family involved with teaching Sunday School at their church and caring for children during the day. The father helps coach youth soccer and works 60 plus hours a week. You weren't there so how would you have any clue as to who did this. Adam being a member of the fire dept. shouldn't have allowed anything like this to happen let alone be part of it. You must just be a friend of this Adam because no one in their right mind would think that in the profesion he has any decision he made that day was right. MORONS!!! This family didn't deserve to have any of this happen you are just lame friends of Adams trying to make excuses for him. This family doesn't do anything but live for their children it is a true shame that you idiots believe what happened is justified in anyway, shape, or form. May the lord help each of you.

I also live in the subdivision this happened in. On another block in fact, and this affected my family as well as many of my neighbors I spoke to the next morning about the disturbance. The fireworks were very loud and woke my child who was scared the rest of the night. It was quite disrespectful. I know the local law enforcement was there several times about the noise but seems none of the party goers cared much what anyone thought. The neighborhood is better off now that they are gone. Though it is a shame that any of it had to take place.

It is funny that I have run across this post. Now I can voice my opinion about the disrespect I witnessed first hand that night directly from this Adam. I can say that all of you sticking up for this young man (little boy I should say) were obviously brought up with no moral values at all to even think that he was not responsible. I personally walked over to that party that evening and asked for them to quiet down and please stop the fireworks. I was laughed at and ignored. This was when it was still light outside, so they obviously didn't care who knew what they were doing or what they thought. Even after I had told them about a neighbor that had just had major heart surgery and that they were scaring and stressing her which she didn't need nothing stopped. Not a single one of them cared one bit. As far as I know not one of them admitted to doing anything wrong or having any illegal fireworks until they found that this Adam fellow was getting charges against him and that the police found the bag of illegal fireworks they had. So anyway this whole thing is just further proof that todays generation is all about ME ME ME and they are all above everything. Boy am I glad I got to share my point of view.

I am outraged at the ignorance of these "adults". The alleged "victims" of this incident have their facts completely wrong. Adam had nothing to do with the damage that was done to your property. he did not even live at that house. The person to blame for the damage that was caused was not even invited to the party. he was not one of Adams friends. he came with someone else that was invited to the party. You all should be ashamed of yourselves for acting this way. you want to talk about corrupt, how about double jepordy? Adam has contributed almost 1/3 of his life to saving lives. he is a caring person and is great at what he does. Yeah, Adam is to blame. The party was for him and the fire chief told me that it was the residence Adam said he was living at. If the other person involved wasn't supposed to be there then he should have been told to leave. They had many chances to do so and no one did anything instead Adam lied to the police and said they didn't even have fireworks. Real upstanding citizen and fireman! If Adam had nothing to do with it he could have even asked the officer that was there several times to tell people to leave. Adam didn't do so because he was part of it. As far as designated driver's go there was one person not drinking and about 5 cars that drove off from that house that night filled with intoxicated people so unless she can drive 5 cars at a time your comment makes no sense. Even the judge was disgusted by Adams actions that evening and in the courtroom because Adam thought it was a big joke. As far a teaching my children to judge others goes, I just let them know bad examples of human beings when I see them so they grow up nothing like them. Whatever you are saying about God being on peoples sides that is not for you to say. Who do you think you are to say how God would judge anyone? The only thing that is sad about any of this is Adam not owning up to anything he has done.

One more thing though, your over the top comment about being jealous about being able to go out and party... are you kidding me, Its called growing up, raising a family and being responsible for that family something you would know nothing about. I am quite pleased and happy with my life. I could care a less about going out and "partying". Spending quality time with my my family is what is important to me. I have grown up and have been since i was 17 so get your facts straight before you start talking crap about people. If you feel better about bringing up my past childhood than that's fine. Just because the court found him not guilty because a bunch of people lied for him means nothing. He was still responsible. IT WAS HIS PARTY!!! Yes he did live there after this whole incident occured I sat across the street and watched him move all his belongings from the house. As far as this goes with needing Gods forgiveness Adam is the only one who should be asking for that. Karma is a bunch of bull. The lord will give you your judgement day not karma. For Adam supposing to be a well respected person with all these recommendations he was far from that the evening I walked across the street and asked him and his friends to stop. How old are you 5 grow up. I live right across from these people they are with their kids all the time. They are great parents and a great family. If you are posting from NJ you have no clue about anything. You need to become a christian! Leave the family alone, our town has a right to know what goes on inside our fire dept. If you don't like what is being said about your friend stay off the post.
