Truth is these threats are at EVERY beach. Loved HHI on my first visit and go to a beach every year. You can catch a shark or a ray on every beach and jellyfish are almost always present

No kidding Dan. I live in Hilton head and have been stung so many times I can't count them anymore. It hurts mildly for an hour or two and that's it. I find it sad when people live in fear of the ocean. Just bring vinegar with you to the beach and I you get stung just pour some vinegar on it and 30 minutes later you are ready for the water again. There are a bunch of sharks in the area. Just be aware and do what you can to decrease your risk of attack. Sharks attacks are so rare I can't believe people even worry about them. Toasters kill more people a year then sharks.
