Moniz had 14 conviction for DUI and will serve his time on weekends? Moniz was driving on a suspended license so obviously has no regard for the law. Talk about career criminals, this guy had 62 convictions on his criminal record, four of which are felonies. That is a conviction of approximately one a year. Either the jails are really overcrowded or Judge Nakamura has pity for a 63 year old man. Is the judge waiting for this character to kill someone before he lays down the hammer.

Regarding the story about the city workers and their kickback scheme. One of the workers has since retired. Maybe we should put some teeth in our laws that say if you're convicted of stealing from the city, then you lose your retirement. We also need a similar law for state employees. It also made me wonder how long this had been going on before it was discovered.

Maybe if we all luck out it will be this obviously lolo judge who gets snuffed. Even less well-deserved acts of real justice have been known to happen to these lolos in robes who forget who they're working for and must be protected from dangerous criminals like this 14 time convicted cruiser-and-boozer.'Nuff said...

what happened to aiwohi's turning a new leaf and starting her "program for women in need (?)" after she was "exonerated in the death of her child "by meth"----

this judge towne should not defer her guilty plea and send her to jail for this welfare fraud (other perple needed that money) but because of her selfishness they were unable to get it...THE JUDICIARY SHOULD WAKE UP!!!!!!!

how many times do you get a free ride from the state judges----no wonder we have people on the street with 50 plus convictions for felonies and misdemeaners--------

READ NEIGHBOR ISLES (ABOVE)the case in point the conviction in hilo of a man with 14 drunk driving convictions and a criminal record of 62 convictions---alowing him to serve his "one year" sentance on "weekends" and "his other six month term" conviction to run concurrently---

WAS JUDGE NAKAMURA DRUNK OR ON DRUGS WHEN HE INPOSED THESE SENTENSES----I FRANKLY HAVE NO COMPREHENSON FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE!!!!!!!!!!

Still from Kaneohe...

RE: meth using mom-how can you use that article title when you do not know for sure that this individual is still using meth? I believe you as a reporter should gather all your facts before making claims and judgements as you have done so here. Perhaps Ms. Aiwohi should look at a recourse of action due to this statement.

For those of you (vinagirl & give me a break) who continue to judge, Keep up with your great attitude. This is probably why our state is in such turmoil. Do you know Ms. Aiwohi personally? Do you know what she has done from 2001 until now? Do you know the countless people she has helped? Do you know the lives she has changed? Do you know? Well unless you have never, EVER made a mistake or hurt anyone in your life...You need to really start looking at yourself. Everytime you judge this woman there is something about her that reminds you of yourself! She made a HUGE mistake and she will never live it down but unless you know FOR SURE what this woman is doing now, you shouldn't talk.

Daily Horoscope for December 18

Aries

You'll be in a better position to get on well with someone who has power or authority over you. This might be your boss, some other authority figure, a friend you really respect or an older relative. Maybe you should chat up your superiors at the office Christmas party... or make more of an effort to understand what makes a certain person tick.
