School district dissolutions raise local officials' ire
If the experience in this tiny Somerset County borough is an indication of future trends, state officials pushing for consolidation of local government bodies around New Jersey can ex pect a difficult path ahead.

I find it interesting that these combined school districts are crying because they didn't get a voice. Let's see, they employee people to run no schools, whose children already go to school districts outside their town. How much of an IQ check is it to say the school districts shouldn't be there?
Those who say they are losing a voice are just blowing smoke, because they'll have the same voice in their new district. If you want real reform, the towns and townships in the state along with school districts need to be of relatively large size to maximize the use of their resources. It's very plain and simple. Otherwise everyone just needs to stop complaining when they state and towns need to increase taxes to deliver on all we expect of them.
Let's stop all the whining and crying and get some real work done to make this state operate more efficiently. The department of education and the governor took the right and obvoius steps in this case. I fully support these steps and encourage them to continue to have the guts to make the tough choices.
