If you havent figured out by now the Mayor does not care about growth of business or population in Marion, all she cares about is making more jobs in the City Government with no real way to pay for them.
When we look at the City of Marion we see a POlice Department that is very overstaffed and is never seen in the community unless they has to. You just hired a Office Assistant that sits and plays on her cellphone all day long, why did she get hired. Simply because her boyfriend in a Police Officer. Right out of highschool with no experince, she has no clue.
Then you have the City Electric crew, these guys cant even keep the lines up to code. And when you file a complaint it just falls on deaf ears, if they cant do the job they should turn Electric service over to Westar. They will do a much better job at servicing the town and I would not be surprised to find them creating more jobs. But we must keep Harvey in a job so that will never happen.
This City is getting exactly what they are putting into growth and that is nothing. If we as a community could be more open to growth in both business and population we might stand a chance, however we are going to continue to lose business to Hillsboro and if we are not careful Marion will become a ghost town with nothing more than the Courthouse and Jail.

The simple answer to this question is yes, Marion has nothing to offer and will not take the steps they need to in order for the City to grow. I own a business and am currently in the works of bringing another business to Kansas, when we are ready to open a office it will be in Hillsboro.
