Didnt Litchfield spend an obscene amount of money a couple years ago for some company to research/pre-engineer overpasses on Ferdon or Tyler? Seems like a good idea putting overpasses in. Anyone know what happened to this?

The ladder truck was passed threw with the volunteers putting up a lot of its own money. Also with the help of grants. Plus the volunteers that worked on the project did a lot of research before taking it to the powers at be.

Misinformed? I dont care who requested the 'big city' firetruck, and greased the skids to get it purchased. it was a waste of taxpayer money, and someone made a healthy profit from it.

Sounds to me like someone just has an axe to grind with the MAC statement?? If you knew as much as you would like people to think you do, you would know that Mac's was THE low bidder for and met all requirements of that bid and that the company even kept their bid on the table AFTER the time of the bids.

"HEALTHY PROFIT"???? A business is being ran here king! If bids go out to everywhere in the U.S. and the local business is still the low bidder and meets ALL the requirements of the bid, then I see no problems with THAT LOCAL company making money on a purchase. How many companies do business where they are not trying to make a profit? At least that company spends their profits in their home town and employs all local people except for one person!!!! THAT cannot be said for the bullshit purchases that are going on now in this city for the fire department, CAN IT?????

"Waste of taxpayer money"???? This purchase was made because this city had NO MEANS to rescue ANYONE from any of the high rise buildings (Brown Shoe, Super 8, Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn, etc.) due to the old ladder truck failing inspection. So what you are saying here king is that you are bitching about a fire truck that was purchased to assure the people and the businesses of this town safety of themselves and their investments??

Yeah king, I believe I said it right the first time..........MISINFORMED!!!

A Standing Ovation for you Sir!! I have been advocating adding a 3-4% "gap" on city bids for local businesses for some time now. The constant spending of taxpayer dollars outside of this community by city officials is a direct contradiction in what "they" say is the purpose of the downtown revitilization project. How do you draw new business into the downtown district, when the city itself will not do business with the ones who are already long established pillars of this community??

Yeah LP, I believe it has been mentioned that even with that 3-4% "gap" that it is quite possible that the locals bid could still come back in under some of the outside bids. I guess if you don't even give some of them a chance we'll never know though will we???????

As far as the Mac's business is concerned..........I believe it ALL comes down to some of our local politicians and god not liking what we like to refer to as "calling a spade a spade"!!!!! It seems as though some got their feelings hurt and feathers ruffled when someone attempted to expose god for what he truly is and has been in EVERY job that he has ever had as a "fire chief"!! The funny part is is that NO ONE has EVER been able to disclaim any of the things that this person has tried to bring up to the public!!!!! I say this for the people that say he is/was wrong and we should "give the guy a chance". He has received "his chance"!!! If people have read anything on the other site and were paying any attention AT ALL to what is happening in this city now they would know..........IT'S HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!! In a city of roughly 6800, people like to think that they don't want to get involved and that things like this just don't effect them. Please open your eyes people because with the things that are currently going on, you or a family member ARE going to be effected!!! Hopefully you will not be left standing there wondering would your outcome have been different if you would have listened to the warnings and tried to do something to get it changed!!!

The ladder truck we had prior to the 'big city' ladder truck was serviceable, it was not necessary to purchase the unnecessary banner flyer we bought. I dont know what your beef is with the chief, but I can guess. Them outsiders just cant be trusted.
