Any man that goes to see "Bad Medicine" is not a man in my book. Fear of Fred kicks a.s.s. If my name were Fred I would be more confident and hit on more women.

Tribute bands blow. However I do like porn stars with similarities to celebrities and slight changes to their names.

He hits on someone new every week. Always sings two worst songs ever, both his own. Brought his own equipment to Patchogue Theater and trashed the place, which ain't easy to do.

He is very overrated in my opinion, but I'm in the minority, cause he's very popular.

Alot of comments about the Urge. I saw them at Gilgo Beach. They DO rock! The Lead Guitar player is FANTASTICK TOP NOTCH. The Bass player also Rocks the house. but vocally they are kinda weak, this guy from another Band got up to sing and blew away anything they did vocally all day.

Any man that goes to see "Bad Medicine" is not a man in my book. Here we go with some idiot shooting off at the mouth about tribute bands. This is probably some guy who can't even play an instrument telling musicians what they can and cannot do. Did anyone say that because you go see a tribute band that you don't go see original bands too. Did anyone say you should only see tribute bands. You are such a narrow minded, short sided person. First off what is wrong with going to see a Doors, Grateful Dead, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd tribute band?!?!?! They are not touring around anymore, in case you didn't know. So what if someone who was seeing those bands in the 60's and 70's, 80's, 90's... whatever, and wants to reminisce about those days, while listening to a band live who studied the live performance and ideals of the band they are paying tribute to. These bands spend alot of time learning the intricacies of these bands to pull off the best performance they can. And more often than not they are musicians who tried playing originals, but that road doesn't pan out for everyone. Not every baseball player makes it to the majors. So what you are saying is that an ex baseball player can't play softball for fun. Dude get a life and try expanding your horizons, we live in NY, and there is plenty of music to see in all different genres. Stop being a original music junkie just because you think it makes you cool, because it doesn't.

Hey, could you please tell me, if you remember, what the location of Hammerheads was. I remember going to the place so well, none of my friends remembers and I can't tell them where it was. Soft White Underbelly wrote: Throughout my high school years, we chased the Good Rats, Zebra, Twisted Sister, Mazarin and (wink, wink) the Soft White Underbelly from Cheers to Hammerheads to My Fathers Place to the Nassau Coliseum!!! We had a stake in those bands - the music mattered. 30 years later, my friends and I still remember that Zebra show at Hofstra, the Good Rats opening for Rush... Robbie Krieger of the Doors jumping on stage with the "Soft White Underbelly" at Hammerheads. Kids today are so deprived. The great Ry Cooder said it best: "Bad music will make you weak." Sad times indeed. If this was the attitude in the 1970s, that crazy kid from Hicksville never would have got a chance to play "Piano Man" or "Captain Jack" in front of a live audience.

Long Island 1978

First off I just stumbled on this thread as I wa searching an old band from Long Island called " Essence ". The played the circuit with the rest of the big boys like, Stanton Anderson Band, Rat Race Choir, Zebra, Twisted Sister, and the Good Rats not to mention Foghat and Soft white Under (who by 1978 had become blue oyster cult). I liked Essence so much because i loved the group "Yes" and they could imitate Rick Wakeman on the hammond but evan more there lead singer sounded EXACTLY like John Anderson. I remember when they would sing "Heart of the Sunrise" by Yes, fagedaboudit I would be in Awe almost tears. The bar I would see these bands at was "Tueys" on 25a in Setucket. They all rotated thru Tueys and The Mad Hatter. Those were The Bands and yes, Those were the Days. That my friends was the real Long Island. When you can leave the bar and find woods with trails anywhere and drive your car in there and continue the Party with your friends and beer and weed. As far as a DWI, It was not a criminal offense before Jan 1st 1981, so as long as you used your head and didnt kill anyone no one was going to bother you. Actually the cops would rather see you parked somewhere secluded this way they wouldnt have to worry about you...
