Any person belonging to a minority eating there after reading this, no matter how cheap Bill Millers slop gets, has got to be stupid.

Pay must be based upon prior experience job difficulity, and job preformance. A dishwasher cannot expect to make as much as a cook, nor can a waiter or waitress who shows up when they feel like it expect to paid as much as someone who is dependable. There are many factors in determining pay. However minuimun starting pay for a waiter or waitress (or any given job) without any prior experience should be the same in any given city.You cannot pay the exact same salary to every one working as a waiter or waitress (or whatever job" with out considering "experience" "Job preformance," or "Job dependability" if you did there would be no incentive to improve or excell. You must earn whatever you receive.

My daughter ask me if all men complain about holiday spending on food and or toy and gift buying? I told her usually one of the people in the relationship would complain about spending to much. If there was a poll who would complain more the male or the female or even the one who works verses the one who stays at home or even if both contribute to the finances which one would complain?

And this article means Bill Millers is rasist how? Obviously you are not that infomed on who's the minority in San Antonio. Hispanics make up approximately 55 percent of the population of San Antonio. So you just want to boycott Bill Millers just because the kids who actually show up for work and give a hard days work makes a few dollars more than their colleages on the South and East side of town? Give me a break! Conduct your research first before making "Expatriate" comments about one of San Antonio's respectable businesses, who have donated more than $1,700,000. in local projects for "your" so-called minorities!

I see nothing in this article to show that there is any racism at Mr. Miller's restaurant. I'm not saying that he shouldn't pay more. That's another issue, but where is the racism? Do you know something that is not in the article? If not, you shouldn't be so quick to condemn this man as a racist.

Bill Miller's pays much better than most companies in San Antonio for starting wages. I have to say that I have lived on both the Southside and the North sides of town and THe company takes care of the employees. THis is much more than I have seen at some higher end places. SO I do not see racism there as a vastmajority of the workers in the entire city are HISPANIC.

I agree with Proud Texan as a former employee as a teenager and African American female, I had no problems working at Bill Millers. They were flexible with my hours (I was in high school and in sports) and the managers with always fair. And I much say the majority of the workers at my store (which grossed 3 million a month) were mainly minorities. So before people start pulling the race card you should look at yourself in the mirror because maybe the problem is you.

Your a Moron. The reason they pay more on the northside is because less people want to work at those location. Any one from any other side of town is welcome to come apply at those stores, and i know many poor Hispanic collage students that work at Bill Millers location around UTSA. If it wern't for the high pay they wouldn't be able to make it.

As far as bill millers contributing to "my so-called minorities"... I didn't know that bill millers contributed to any Jewish philanthropic organisations, name a few and provide proof please.

I think it's cool that eat joints in the u.s. give freebies or discounts to cops on duty.

I've never seen it happen in germany though. As a matter of fact, I think it's against the rules of conduct for cops in germany (they're all state employees) to take anything. I think they call it "conflict of interest".

I don't live in San Antonio any more, for the simple fact that the pay scale in the city is ridiculously low, compared to other parts of the country. Yes the cost of living is a little lower, but the general attitude of employers in San Antonio is a little "slave owner" like.

I have lived in different cities across the U.S., and the prevailing atmosphere at most of the jobs I worked in S.A. was one of "kill yourself for peanuts,and be thankful for it". I'm sure many will condemn me for my comments, but until you step away from the area, it is hard to understand.

Also, comparatively, San Antonio is very rascist. The difference is that now whites are the ones complaining, though they still hold the majority of wealth in the region.

I am constantly amazed by just how stupid the average person is. They pay based on what the market is in that area. HEB does the same thing, but WE PAY more on the north side for the SAME groceries! Are you dumb asses going to sue and protest over that as well?

Why minorities always make every situation about race is disgraceful. It is the minorities that are keeping the bulk of racism alive. When you have racism in your heart that is all you see. Its like going dear hunting, everything you see seams to look like a dear.

Because people do not take personal responsibility for thier actions, decesions , or /amnd their situations- it is easier to balme someone else- Just like Hitler did with the Jews- Farrakahn does, and so on such- I find it very Ironic that there are More NON white Racists than White ones in my experience/observations- but it is acceptable under" cultural Pride" or it is okay for one gruppe to be stereotyping , and not another-
