Sam was my Uncle by marriage since I was real young.Safe to say that he was a real hard case.Just as soon shoot or knife a brother as look at him.I know life can be tough, but never understood what could make a man that mean.Probably never will.Hate to say it,but for all the heart that he had,he fell mighty short in the common sense department.Shot that boy six or seven times in the head,,,and wondered why his "self-defense" claim didn't fly.Hope he's finally at peace though.

Depends on which Sam your talking about.Sam Senior passed away somewhere in the neighborhood of five or six years ago.Sam Junior (early fourtie's or late thirties) is still alive in Shepherdsville.

As I understand it that's only what created the initial friction.Hearing the first hand account from Sam as we laid in wait of our vacation together in La Grange Kentucky,,,I ascertained that the shooting happened because that Lynch guy was simply too proud to shut up in the face of an armed man who had already made up his mind that he was walking away the winner. In short,,,I interpret that Sam hit a moment of pause during the incident when the victim's attitude could have very well changed his fate.Actually learned two valuable lessons from that situation.1-It's not wise for a temperamental person to carry a firearm into a heated discussion.2-It's even less wise to argue with someone who decided to go ahead and do it anyway.
