I'm so sick of everyone blaming teachers for their children's incompetence. No I'm not a teacher but I still think it is completely unfair. It is YOUR jobs as parents to teach YOUR children not just a school teachers job. You're their parents! You're suppose to be their very FIRST teacher and their best teacher. You're with them a lot more than low paid teachers are. Its no wonder kids today are such screw ups instead of blaming teachers, television, video games, everything and everyone else step up and be a PARENT! Also blame the board of education as well and stop breathing down the necks of teachers who aren't paid nearly as much as they should be for dealing with your misbehaving brats you call children! Also I think the proper spelling for this word is 'individuals' not 'indivuals'.
40-50k a year is not low pay for a nine month job. But you are right parents should be the child's first teacher!! And there are good teachers in the system but like everything one rotten apple can destory a barrel. You don't get rid of the barrel just the rotten apples

Worked at Today's Kids & seen a worker take a little boy in the bathroom and whip him, my first & last day there. You couldn't pay me to take my kid there. I've heard a lot of good things about Nazarene Daycare though!

I have worked daycare for 12 years. In that time I have been fired or quit all the day area but Lilly pad in bullitt co. I break the number one rule which is "what the parents don't know won't hurt them" I believe in teaching and taking care of the children. Most teachers are just sitters. I have only seen 2 other daycare teachers in bullitt co. The rest sat on their butt and let the kids do what they want. Honey Bees is the worse. I got pregnant while working there and the owner Tammy was mad at me and cusses at me infront of the kids 3+. It was impossible to teach at this center bc you had 3-10 year old all in the same class with 1 teacher. Since I had the older kids when she cussed at me the children told their parents and they pulled them out. A daycare worker makes minimal wage no matter the experience and don't have to have any knowledge or school for children. After I had kids of my own I refuse to let my child in daycare. What the parents don't see or allowed to see is the teachers getting upset and smacking or whipping the children. I have also seen teachers jerk children up. I would report the teacher and I would be the one getting fired. In these cases I would call state and they would come in and fire the teacher. The ONLY daycare I would send my child to is little scholars on Bardstown rd. the owner Ronda is awesome. You will be giving a password to the website so you can watch your child while your at work. The password is different for every child. This center is about 1-2 miles from gene Snyder coming from mt Washington. Good luck parents. And this center does take 4Cs

<quoted text> Damn so true!! Make 30-50 thousand a year, ins benefits , ever holiday with pay, weekends off , 9 month work calendar ,and summers off. Sure they went to college, that's part of the gig. Still Kentucky is very low in test scores!!(By the way not just the teachers fault). Its some lazy ass parents fault too! That's what is wrong with some kids. Nobody takes a interest in them. Not all parents and not all teachers are bad. We must fire the asses of the ones that can't deliver the goods including school board all away down the line! As far as bad parents go they should be put in check too. Being a parent is not a 9-5 job it's 24/7 no holiday or breaks. Sure you can't see what their always doing but you make it your business to know their business !' They need a parent not a running buddy!!

Wow your so wrong for my 2 children its $967 a month. That's more then my house payment. I'm a stay at home mom bc of it. Daycares are open 365days a year there is no break, no paid vacation or holidays. And they hire anyone off the streets no school needed. I have been working daycare since I was 17 and still in high school.

I need recommendations for a great daycare for my daughter. I've been a stay at home mom and am getting ready to start working again. I want piece of mind while I'm at work knowing she's in good hands. I wanted to wait until she was school age to go back to work but I just can't wait anymore and am worried sick about all of the horrible things I've heard.
Manson Family Values is a great place to get em educated & they will grow to be leaders in society!

Are you a stay at home mom or do you work in daycare? How long ago did they fire you at Honeybees?By the way, they are not open on weekends, third shift or major holidays.I guess things have changed.

I don't know who you are "daycare worker" but you should probably rethink somethings before you say stuff on here. My child has been going to honey bees for over two years and I have never had an issue with anyone that has worked there. One of friends use to work at the daycare so I know everything that has ever happened in that daycare. I switched him from for kids only in cedar grove and I had more issues out of that daycare then I could ever imagine. Please do not say terrible things about a place just because you got fired from there.

This is one of the worsted daycares to take ur baby. They have more kids than they can handle. there's also a high turnover rate with the teachers. when your child gets hurt they can explain to you how.. My baby came home with bruises all the time and they can never explain to me how and what happened.

Today kids don't change diapers. I had to call state on them when i picked up my youngest with blisters on his privates. For kids only they are mean to the kids. I worked and quit there because they knee a kid in the ribs to make them law down for a nap. And tlc is a total wacky job.
WOW that is funny!!
How can you say that when you took your kids back there not once but twice??!!
and i pretty sure you also put in a couple applications to work there!
now maybe its just me but i thought is was a bad place and they did not take care of my child i sure would not want to wk there or take my children back!

I personally don't have anything against daycare centers . But as a child I attended Sherris little rascals in home childcare and just love her , I always felt at home and as a part of her family . She has been in business over 20 yrs . and I have never heard anything negative . I am fortunate enough that she is still watching kids because now my children are going there ..I want someone I trust with my kids and she is the only one that works with them ..If you notice daycares are always hiring so you never know who is going to be with your child ..
