why is this going on at Bernheim Middle School and no one can see it and do something about it? One kid going around talking about another and slandering their name. This is just not right!!! seems to me that the one who started all this is the one not getting punished. Maybe they shoud give awards for who can be the biggest b in that school.

I say the law/rules protect criminals and wrong do'ers before they do the victims and honest folks. As a parent do what you have to , to stop it. No child should have to deal with the products of crappy parenting ... (monkey see monkey do syndrome)

I am so happy t see your post. The same situation is happening with my child. I have made at least four phone calls. I have talked to Mr.Carnes, Ms.Harrison, Mr.Hart, and Ms. Smith. Nothing has been done. When confronted about why denial, denial, denial. My child just got their first failing grade EVER! I told them this would happen and I believe it to be one of the first signs that this is affecting him negatively. This is my third child to go through this school and they have not done any of them any favors. I have had to "fix" each one after they were "Bernheim broken". Before you begin bashing me, trust me, I've put my share of work into my children. My oldest will be graduating with a 3.8 this year. The complacent monkies who punch the clock at that school everyday and blindly ruin children's school careers need to give it up and go to work at zappos.

It's not just in your child's school. My daughter has been being bullied for most of this school year. As like the above poster, being a loving and concerned mother, I have called the school on several occasions when my child has came home crying over this other little girl. We have had parent teacher conferences with this other child and her mother. My daughters grades are slipping because of this and she cries every morning begging me to not send her. This behavior has to run deeper than just the child, they have to be seeing the bullying coming from within the home. The school counselor has even spoke with the other child about her behavior to my daughter. Nothing works! They won't suspend the little girl, all they told my child was to have her teacher move her desk to the other side of the room and avoid contact with this other child. Are you kidding me? What is wrong with these teachers today??? This other child calls my daughter fat, ugly, and other obscenities and has even flipped her the finger once. And my daughter is being made by the teacher, counselor, and principal to feel like it's her fault. My child has even been put in detention for telling the other little girl to shut up and leave her alone. What would you other moms do in my situation without causing more strife? I don't want my child to think its ok to bully or to fight but she needs to take up for herself at this point!

“No whining!”

Just curious--does the bully play basketball? My best friends son was bullied for two years there by a kid who played basketball--and, of course, Mr. Carnes and Mr. Hart would do *nothing* about it. I am shocked that Mrs. Harrison wouldn't, though. She seems like a stand up kinda person.
My friend's son finally caught the child outside of school and beat the tar out of him. Fortunately, the bullying ended. Unfortunately, it had to come to that.

As a matter of fact it is more than one, and it is the sports kids. My child is a really meek person and although I've expressed to him he could stand up for himself, he just isn't that type and shouldn't have to be. When these kids go to school the teachers are just to lazy to dig and resolve. The one time my child stood up for himself he received isap. He has never been in trouble. I went to school the next day, talked to the staff member who witnesses the incident, and she told me my child had not been at fault. They even removed it from his record. In her defense I do believe it was Harfison that did that much. That still doesn't remove the fact that my kid had isap for being a victim because the school was too lazy too investigate the situation...or simply did not care. I know of several families personally who have fought the same battle with this school. It is so sad. I suppose it will take a child being hurt, or heaven forbid someone's baby doing something terrible to themselves before something is done. I refuse to sit on my hands and let it happen.

Fact is grand-ma,it's been going on since day one throughout every school-house on the planet.Believe me though.More to blame than the misbehaving children are the teachers who recognize the problem but for some reason or another, either fail to address it,(eighty-seven percent of problem),or become part of the problem altogether by laughing along or supporting one student against another somehow(other thirteen-percent of problem. As I see it though, bullying is a great big problem in schools that alert faculty could eradicate completely if they would only put forth effort.
