This meeting is in regards to the REMAPPING of the flood plains.
How it will effect you and how it will affect our flood insurance rates.

This is the notice:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is remapping the floodplains within several coastal areas, including La Porte.

The agency recently released draft Flood Insurance Rate Maps, which address the surge zone areas in particular. Maps can be viewed at www.txchart.com or by calling 1-877-FEMA-MAP.

Congress also passed the Biggert Waters Act of 2012, which involves insurance reforms related to how flood insurance claims will change.

The last of three public, open-house meetings on these changes will be from 2-8 p.m. June 27 at the Baytown Community Center, 2407 Market St.

The meeting will be question-and-answer format so that people will receive direct responses from FEMA about potential impacts on property. La Porte officials will answer questions about local floodplain management ordinances.

You can bet that as a result of this meeting, More of the homes in the area will be in the flood plain. Rates will then go sky high to pay for obamacare and obamaphones.

Aren't we lucky to gave the gubment looking out for us?

First all the remapping was started under the Bush administration who wanted to protect all his buddies in the insurance business. So Elaine don't even bring Obama into this you racist witch.

It is Republicans who don't want to subsidize people like you who elect to live in a flood plain.

Lastly unless you sell your house the FEMA flood rates should not have changed.

Now if you really want to get angry get angry with your Republican buddies who keep raising your TWIA rates.

Beware what you wish for Elaine and oh, get some education.

Elect to live in a flood plain. People we all have to live somewhere. Sorry to burst your bubble but I live in a flood plain and IKE was the first damage I have ever had in 30 years of living in Houston and surrounding areas. Was it a risk? Absolutely. But tornados, fires, earthquakes, driving, etc. is all a risk. I refuse to condemn the people that live in any of these areas. I have personally yet to find an area that is totally safe.
Disasters seem to come in groups. Why? Don't know, ask God.

This meeting was actually a one-one-one question and answer session for each individual in regards to your own property.

As it turns out, the area in which I live has not changed. We still have an (X) classification.

The website is www.txchart.com where you can find out about your property.

How many of you Teabags enjoy the government subsidizing your flood insurance rates to the tune of 65% of actuarial rates?

But I don't know that.

It is lovely. Now all I am missing is welfare, food stamps, SSI disability, WIC, and a free bobama phone. Then I could be just like all the other illegals and no-working, lazy, piece of crap losers. Even if they subsidized it at 100% it wouldn't make up for all we contribute. Oh, and they also made up for it by taxing my health insurance. You useless idiot.

Ok, why does Elaine have to be a racist witch just because she brought Obama into it?

Explain your thought process.

Well after Ike I don't recall getting free stuff. What is it that we are supposed to be getting?

And yes, I live in a flood plain.
