I can't believe nobody else has replied. I guess people would rather complain and gossip than try to actually do something about what's going on here. I'd be interested, and I know a few other people who want to fix things here too. Maybe we can plan a community meeting? Not a complaint session, but something where we can give real solutions... a sheriff or constable might help add a few pointers, but I'm pretty sure we know everything they'll say... lock your doors, report anything suspicious, etc, etc. What we really need is a plan for getting the thieves and criminals out of the community & getting some good folks here in their place.
I had a single axel trailer stolen a few weeks ago. When I talked to the cop he told me that little ol' Highlands has anywhere from 8-15 robbery\burglaries a DAY. I find it hard to believe that such a small community can have such a high crime rate. That being said is anyone interested in having the Sherriff or constable come and tell us how we as a community can better protect ourselves? Maybe start community watch programs?
