Why isn't there cameras on the bus? Some kids are very mean and disrespectful to adults. If I was a bus-driver I would have made a report on the kid that assaulted me and would have quit because no job is worth the abuse. The bus drivers don't get paid enough for the abuse they endure everyday.

Exactly no one could have predicted, but there was one red flag, he thought it serious enough to return back to the school, what harm would it have done if the principal took the children who clearly were not listening off of the bus and called their parent's. How many times does one person have to tell another they cannot do something?
Please don't misconstrue my remarks as defending the driver, I am not, what I am trying to make you understand is that the principal failed overwhelmingly. By returning back to the school he was clearly giving her an indication he had lost control over these few children and needed her help, she decided to turn him away, rather than address the situation in the correct way. Shame on her.
I agree, which is why we went the extra step to meet with her personally. She did fail. However, she is doing everything that she can to make it right at this point. We all make mistakes and she is beyond lucky that this thing didn't get much worse, she could have lost her job over it. She learned a lesson, as did all of us. She is making things right and that is all I can ask for. The bus company is a joke. They accepted zero responsibility in this. I said it several times on this tread and I'll say it again, this man may very well be a fine person, but his personality is such that he cannot handle the pressures of this particular job. He doesn't need to be around children in this capacity. It is all about preventing a major disaster not just sitting idly by to let someting worse happen. We have to recognize when someone is incapabel of coping with their given set of circumstances.

First of all there are cameras on the bus. Secondly, that is not what this story is about at all. You need to do two things, read the story first and then go back and read some of the comments already posted here because all of that was already covered. Just a suggestion....

You're being too generous--fine people don't drive around frightening innocent children for an hour. They may lose their temper and speak harshly, but adults (fine ones)have to learn to shake it off and come to a reasonable state of mind

That's true, too. I don't know the man personally, so I really can't say what his problems or issues are. I only know one thing for sure... he really does not need to work around ANY child. It is too bad the bus company can't pull their heads out long enough to see day light. We'll see if they continue to employee him for next year.
