Huge Gas Leak "Hushed".

Last week while driving back home to Lexington Hills, an overwhelming smell of sulfur surrounded the area, which I assumed was gas. I called Orange & Rockland immediately and they came within minutes. While unloading my car, an O&R employee was knocking on my neighbors door yelling her name. He then asked me if he knew my neighbor. He said she had called in a gas leak and wanted to let her know the status. I told him I called it in too but it wasnt only in my building, it was the entire surrounding community.
He then told me that the construction work on Route 17m that was adjacent to the complex had a huge gas leak in the pipe they were working on. The gas leak was blowing for **4** hours. None of the crew called this in. The 2 inch hole which it was blowing out of then increased to 5 inches. It made the entire community reek of gas.
If this construction site crew didnt get a fine for this, that would be truly scary. To jeopardize the lives of many because youre afraid that your company will get sued is absolutely disgusting. Four hours is enough for someone to light a fire (which Lexington Hills have many fireplaces in their condos), which would ultimately blow up the entire town of Harriman.
