Please, Vernon probably has too many cousins and cronies working for the township. It's time government start working for the taxpayers instead of the corrupt interests of elected officials. Boom, boom. boom. Agree?

Vernon is very clicky, if your with the in crowd, you get a job, its been that way forever. Whose aunt/uncle or step brother isn't involved with the twp. government? Vernon is in the boondocks yet the taxes up there are out of sight and they get nothing for it either.

Yes we need to make cut-backs - everywhere. The problem is... the high paying jobs possessed by aunts, uncles, cousins, etc are staying. Not only do they get to stay, they earn higher salaries than the normal rate in private sector. This has been going on TOO LONG! The most recent news - the super of our schools is laying off hard workers across the board this week, oh and he hired his 31 year old friend at $80k to be the head of the head of custodians. Did I mention that we have to get rid of custodians who actually fix things to pay for the 31 year old who is earning $80k to watch them fix things?

THAT just pisses me off!!! His FRIEND for 80K???? Will this EVER END??? To oversee custodians??? Isn't that the job of the Principals and Superintendents in lieu of a head custodian? Now they are going to have this kid be responsible for checking that the custodians are doing their work and he won't even be in the building to assign work and make sure it gets done?? He will probably come visit each school once an hour once a week? A PENCIL pusher for 80K !!! Why am I even shocked. Another waste of money for a good old buddy. Vernon is just great. It goes on and on and we the people get screwed and screwed!!

Yes agree with you all. The "kid" started yesterday Monday - same day some folks at the HS got their pink slips for the end of the school year. The Super definitely has no sense of timing - we're learning he doesn't have sense of money or a sense of efficiency. I'm starting to wonder what does he have a sense of?

Why do they need a new person, and create a new position in these harsh economic times? Why don't they just hold the people responsible who should have been doning this job since the schools were openend? Cronyism???

Why haven't his hiring been in the board minutes? Public Information? Is The Super hiding something?

And by the way, I went to one of the schools to pick up my child from school and I saw him driving up in a brand new car, I believe it was an "Escalade". Isn't that lovely? Fire people left and right but we can afford to hire this guy AND get him a brand new company car with shiny new tires with the towns name printed it all over it.
What the HELL are my tax dollars going to?!?!
I feel sooo badly for the people who are working in the schools right now and worried for my kids.
What a shame. I moved here for the good schools and this kind of crap is destroying our district.
