They were leaving copper dock on the way to styx and wrecked by st rose from my understanding. Everyone keeps saying how tragic which it is but no one has talked about the drinking part. Also heard that they don't know who was driving so who knows if charges will even be placed even if it's warranted.

So he was driving and was intoxicated and I have yet to hear that any charges have been issued. I think a call to the DA are in order. This is a very huge act of injustice and favoritism

They are probably awaiting tox screen results

I was wondering why no charges were filed also. Shit, I didn't even see his name in the paper. I didn't know that was an option. There are tons of people listed in the paper whom, I sure if they had their choice; there name would not be listed either. Most of the time the person who was responsible gets arrested and put in jail until they make bond. If the fellow went to hospital then he could not go to jail until he was released. Who knows, maybe I have it all wrong. Its sad enough that the girl died and that is plenty of punishment, put the system does not work that way. Not sure that they would wait for "tox" results.

You probably didn't see anything in the highland paper because the accident happened in Clinton county I believe.

He has been charged with a DUI and awaiting to hear about additional manslaughter charges from states attorney. Family isn't going after him and trying to support him through this.

Doesn't matter if the family isn't going after him it's against the law and anyone else would be in jail for manslaughter... Someone needs to be question why good old Johnny boy in the cc court house isn't doing what's right by the law

I just meant that the family isn't going after him in civil court. Yes he will still go through court proceedings and be charged by states attorney.

I understand the family not going after him in civil court because I am sure Abby wouldn't have wanted that. But of he isn't charged then what example does that set to others.. That it's ok?! No it's definitely not ok. I am not saying put him away for life but just a simple DUI doesn't cut it.

He is still going to be charged just hasn't had court proceedings yet due to our timely court systems...

Hence the DUI charge...
Not sure what he will actually be "getting away with" when all the the dust settles. He will likely face prison time, have major fees to pay, loss of his job, and not to mention he lost the love of his life and will be reminded of it every day for the rest of his life.
whatever

When it comes to a DUI and he admitting it I would have to say yes. You can support him in anyway you like if he was driving and hit another vehicle and caused death that way this would be a totally different story
so sad

Do you people think he wanted this to happen to her? Do you think he wanted this to happen to him? He made a HUGE mistake. Abbey was a good girl and he was a good guy. I believe he shouldn't get more than a DUI. T have to live with what happened is justifying enough. Put yourself in that situation. Can you imagine how that feels?!?
