I had overheard someone talking about a little boy alnost drowning and having to have CPR preformed. Does anyone have any other details? It really seems like the quality in lifeguard staffing is not what it has been in prior years. Does anyone else feel that letting bus full after bus full of daycare kids in on the same day create an occupancy issue?

It should have never gotten to the point where a child was under so long they had to be revived. That is shitty lifeguarding. Period.

Wow..any of you that have made ignorant conments clearly are not parents. The lifeguards should be constantly scanning the pool and should have recognized as soon as someone was in trouble. This is far from being a stupid issue.

If it was part of "playground" it's a shame because they have these 16 year olds running it.

If it was during playground, it was before pool hours and that means the pool was not busy at all. The lifeguards did what they were trained to do after they failed to recognize someone was drowning in a not very busy pool. They did a shitty job and should be less concerned about chatting with one another and try to keep their eyes on the water.

Hey people they cant tell ur drowning until you are. And as a parent I wouldn't want my child in any pool without my supervision. Kids drown in there bathtubs at home too and there is no life guard there to perform cpr. so if you ask me They did there job.

....I understand your point, and mostly agree but you should have used the word THEIR-- not THERE. annoying...

You should fix your grammar. You're missing a comma.

I used to lifeguard and yes, the lifeguards on duty should have noticed a child in distress prior to drowning, especially since there were only about 30 kids in the pool with three lifeguards watching. However, mistakes are made every day and I'm glad the lifeguards were able to pull the kid out and give him CPR while waiting on the EMTs, which saved his life.
