What in the world could Mike have been so depressed about, enough to kill himself over? I mean he had good looks, family money...

And Tammy, I have looked every way possible to get the articles on her death but came up empty. Whatever became of her child?

Are these the only 2 children Bill had? What a horrible loss.

What are you talking about? I went to this thinking something happened in theast few days, and found myself in the middle of a conversation with no one.

Can you post what happened and when?

Tammy (Ambuehl) Underwood was killed Aug. 24, 1998, and I have no idea when it was the Mike killed himself. Just have been told that here lately, it's been awhile but I had heard this samething somewhere in the past about Mike.

I have tried to look up info on Tammy and didn't come up with much. It seems that her husband killed her because she was trying to divorce him.

It's almost like the Ambuehl family was ended before it could begin.

I have the HHS Alumni directory and as of 1994 when it was made he was still alive. Lists him as unmarried and a farmer.

If you search Oct '02 archives of the StL Post you get 4 results for Ambuehl. 1 obit and 4 from the business section dated Oct 14, and 21. I'm debating d'loading the entre articles but their $3 each.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch August 24, 1998

She was on the Pom-Pom squad and I worked with them. She always seemed very sweet.

She was sweet but very unpredictable. One day I was with her riding around in town. She was bored and when we pulled into Piggly Wiggly she showed me a gun. Said it was a toy but back then I don't think they made toys that real. I am almost sure she was drunk or extremely high because she looked at me in the face up close and was trying to focus on me while telling me a secret.

We drove thru the Bank Drive thru and she pulled a gun at the window saying... this is a stick-up. Then she just tore thru the bank and did donuts in PW's parking lot. Soon the police came and made her stop. Can you believe she got off with a warning. I knew right away back then that it did matter who you were in Highland. I don't think she was messing around at all, I think she either needed the money or was just striking out.

Don't think I have ever been that scared.

Don't know if you remember my sister and her best friend were more or less kicked to the crub for a time. Seemed that they decided to try to take others boyfriends. During this time I would bring them to parties and informed others they were coming and there would not be any crap taking place. So, during this time, as long as my sister came w/me and my friends they were not being able to be pushed around.

During a lot of these parties... Tammy would get them to wear ganstra hats and she would bring big cigars. We all went around being crazy. I can still picture Tammy finding a trike to ride around on, smokin her cigar and wearing her hat sloped to the side.

It was many a year after they graduated that the partying took over. They would go to Breeze, IL at some bars and get into trouble. Hang out at Buffalo too much. Do things that were just out of character for them.

These are just a few memories and if you want to go further into these times... you know how to reach me.

I am a bit concerned with my message here. I may have over-stepped my boundries. Maybe even brought back a few things others would prefer not to remember or even to have spoken of. I have not figured out how to delete on here, if you feel the same and know how... help out a bud please.

I am the daughter of Tammy and Mike did not kill himself, he had a heart attack. Just thought I would straighten that out.

My mother had two children Me and Tara, Tara is 28 now, is married, and has two children of her own, she is a principle at Edwardsville school.
I am 24 and engaged but nothing special like Tara. Yes, Mike and my mom were the only children that my grandparents had.

So anyway the Ambuehl family did not end with that generation. And really my Uncle Mike did not kill himself he had a heart attack while cutting
his grass. I would appreciate it for whoever you are to get your facts straight before putting them out on the internet for the whole world to see. Also the stories about my mom really don't need to be put on the internet either. If you have good things to say about her, then great thats fine, however if all you have to talk about is how crazy she is maybe you could not do it on the internet. Not trying to be a jerk but just brought up some stuff that no one really needs to hear about. Thanks.

Have you ever said something that immediately afterwards you wished you hadn't? I know I have. I went to school with your mother. I have wondered about you girls since I heard of her death. I am glad to hear that you have both done well. My thoughts are with you.

Wow, I guess I never thought of you all grown-up. Did everything turn out good in your life? I am so sorry if I have hurt you in anyway with a post I did. Didn't really realize how personal it was until it was too late. A friend, as you read is trying to get them to take it off for me.

Thank you for clearing up Mike's death. He was in my class. Went to school with him for 3rd grade on. I am sorry he had a heart-attack but releaved that was how it happened. If you don't mind me asking, how old must you be by now? Did some figuring... you would be anywhere from 10- early teens. This is probably not you and in that case I am very gullible indeed. That comes from being out of touch for so long.

And I totally agree. You will see that I jumped the gun and posted before I read your other posts. And again I am sorry. Your mother had a smile that never ended. Bubbling with life and wanting to get everything she could out of it.
