It's because the state was cutting about $135000 from funding to the high school. The freshman being at the middle school was one of the reasons for the cut backs. I believe the move is being made so Newport High may get back some of that funding

Well WCPO lists Brandts salary at $192,000! That's more than the Superintendent of Cincinnati Schools makes!

What about his $550 car allowance a month, no paying into his pension, and his free lunches which I heard ran over $30,000 last year. Brandt should have been the star of the I-team report last night!

Well, what should we expect, no one hold Newport Independent Schools accountable for anything.

Crappy schools, overpaid teachers and administration, but say anything about that and it's like your beating up on poor kids.

Several of us tried and tried to tell people and that board that changing the schools like they did was a bad decision. But it was what BRANDT wanted and in this district, whatever Brandt wants Brandt gets. Those of us who spoke out against it were told we were against the kids, against the district, and should just move.

Well, guess what? Some of us did move (or at least moved our kids out of Newport's failing schools since they closed the only one that wasn't failing) because NO ONE on the previous board, nor Brandt actually have the kids best interests at heart. And now the district has gone even farther down the crapper.

And who suffers because of all this mismanagement isn't the overpaid Brandt. It's the undervalued students.
Sad sad sad.

Whatever...it has NEVER been about the kids in Newport! Anyone says it was better BEFORE Brandt arrived is just a stinkin' employee with a grudge. The district has been a joke since the 70's. Nobody does their job--N O B O D Y!

It will change when the TAXPAYERS of Newport care enough to vote in some people who care about the children of Newport.
