I hope he has spotlights and neon and car shows. The place needs some life, and lord knows Cold Spring City Council has approved enough condos that plenty of empty nesters will be looking for a place to get away from their 4-plex condo building for a night out. And with all of the franchise restaurants around, an entertainment spot is sorely needed. You Go Steve Chuke! See you at Guys & Dolls!

I grew up in Newport Kentucky and loved Guys and Dolls. Billy Joe Royal was a regular performer there back in the late 60's.

I can't wait for the club to reopen....and when they do...I think the great 50's -60's Rock'n Roll show band...."HOT WAX" would be a perfect fit for a couple of shows a year there!

They are simply outstanding....and they would certainly bring back that great feel of the 60's era!

By the way...did Ben Kraft grow up in Bellevue Kentucky...and didn't he also own the Round Up club in Erlanger for many years?

IS BEN KRAFT DEAD NOW? I WAS AT THE GUYS AND DOLLS WITH A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE A VERY LONG TIME AGO. THE ICE WAS THE BAND THAT PLAYED THERE. WE STAYED IN BEN'S APARTMENT ABOVE THE CLUB. WE HAD SUCHA GOOD TIME. BEN WAS A LITTLE SHORT GUY, DARK HAIR. DROVE EL DORADO I THINK. RAN AROUND CINN. IN THOSE DAYS. LONG AGO.

He was actually born in New Mexico and grew up in Cincinnati. He attended Holy Family Grade School and St. X High School. He owned the Black Orchid before Guys and Dolls. I do not recall anything about the Round Up Club, but I could be wrong on that. I am his niece. I am trying to locate any memorabilia from Guys and Dolls, so if you know on anyone that has some, I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know.

I was the keyboard player in the Ice from 1971 to 1972 at Guys & Dolls. Last time I saw Ben Kraft was in the 1990's at a strip club he owned in Newport called Sparkle Plenty's. I have lots of recordings of the band on reel to reel tapes. The Roundup was owned by Gene Kenney. The Ice also played there and at Alexender's at the University Plaza in Cincy

I was a student at Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1964-65 I went to the guys and dolls as a guest of Billy Joe Royal , we lived in Oakley in Cincinnati in the same apartment complex , leesburgh apartments, his song down in the boondocks was released that year , and went to #1 on the charts in 2 weeks , he was sitting by the pool at that apartments with my wife and I the first time the song Wes played on the radio
